what are you talking about? 3 straight plays jr smith slapped the ball from kobe with no call (2 times) and martin somehow blocked gasol straight up with no foul. i guess those were just perfectly clean and obvious no calls. neither team got a call for about 2 minutes.

lol at the refs being the reason why the nuggets lost. the bonehead plays of smith and kenyon in the 4th were the reasons why the nuggets lost.

I stand by what I said in that Cavs-Magic post when someone said the Magic would "destroy" whoever comes out of the West- when the Lakers play like this, they are the best team in basketball, and they're definitely the favorite whoever they play in the east even though the Magic beat them twice in the regular season.

Funny side story- I went to game 3 in Houston and I bought one of those shirts that had the symbol of the tickets- left side Lakers, right side Rockets. Well, I'm wearing it today up in Lubbock and this guy stops me in Hastings and says, "Hey, Lakers fan!" (I guess he only saw the Lakers on there and not both teams). He then proceeds to talk non-stop for one minute about how great the Lakers are, how they showed heart against the Rockets in game 7, blah, blah, blah. I then said, "Well, I'm actually a Rockets fan" and pointed to the red ticket. He just said "Oh" and walked away. But I couldn't leave it at that- I said "Hey, and heart? That was what the Rockets showed without Yao and Tracy." Doesn't take away the sting of being out of the playoffs, but it felt great for that second.

I don't see why anyone thinks the Magic would dominate the Lakers or the Nuggets.

So refreshing to see the refs refrain from calling fouls on people when Chauncey decides it's time to jump into them. Also nice of them to actually look and see if the Laker bigs actually make contact with the Denver drivers. Phew!

The last time the Lakers won a game they didn't actually need to win to "hold serve" was back in game 5 of the Utah series. That seems to be the pattern for them, so I expect them to lose game 6, and then probably win game 7.

Odom finally stepped up in a game and that was the reason why the Lakers came out on top. Refs let them play at the end of the game and that was very surprising

I wonder which team did you cheer for in the Rockets-Lakers series. You look like a diehard Lakers fan out there.

Just because he says the officiating was fair tonight doesn't make him a "die hard" Lakers fan. He is just stating the truth.

    Great officiating tonight IMO.

I guess somebody finally sat down and explained to Lamar Odom that he's playing for a contract and that his drug money for the next 3-5 years hinges on actually showing up for a game or two. Congrats to him on finally doing so.

And for the life of me i'll never understand why Gasol doesn't get more looks. Lucky for the Lakers' chemistry sakes he isn't selfish and doesn't start demanding the ball. He's one of the most efficient players and most difficult assignments on the floor yet he keeps getting 8-9 looks a game. It's puzzling. Oh well, whatever works.

I am not talking about that particular complaint about officiating. In case you haven't noticed, f4p has cheered for the Lakers and complained about Kobe's not getting calls persistently in the entire series.

Gasol needs to be more aggressive himself, every time
he established position down low, he's looking to pass.

    Last 12? Check this:
    May 8@ HOU W 108-94 33:48 7/11 63.6 2/2 100.0 0/ 0 0.0 2 11 13 0 3 1 2 3 16
and Odom has some decent games in between. Granted he didn't shoot well this series but he is rebounding, assisting, defense, block shots etc. And he still averaged 10pts 10rebs and 11pts 9rebs entire playoffs for about 30mpg. Please don't tell me the stats are unimpressed! That's impressive for a bench player and a third/fourth options in a team!

Kobe lovers just like to make others look bad so that it will look good for kobe. Sorry, Kobe is good enough and he don't need yours sorry excuses when the lakers lost!

Oh man..wouldn't that be something? i've stated so many times that rafer is not a starting pg for a championship team. i would have to eat some serious crow.

I'm ok with that. I just don't want the Lakers to win it all.
