It always annoyed me that they made a TV show about her being groomed to be a superstar and how it exposed that she couldn't sing a lick even with extensive training. Yet, that show made her famous and she started selling out concerts. It was a giant FU from the music industry to the public. They were basically saying, "Yeah, she's a no talent hack. We're even going to blatantly show you that she's a no talent hack. But you're all gullible idiots and you'll like whoever we tell you to like. We're not even going to hide the fact that she sucks and you're still going to buy tickets and CD's because you are all morons". And that's exactly what happened. She even continued to sell out after the SNL incident.
I still prefer the older sister. Something about her...just the right amount of trashiness and huge rack.
It certainly should have, but for reasons unknown to me (and most normal people) it hasn't. Seriously, I can't figure out how this bimbo even pulls a paycheck. The fact that anyone would associate her name with anything other than that abortion of an SNL performance just boggles my mind.
Reasono=Joe Simpson. The man puts Matthew Knowles to shame with his shameless pimping of his daughter. At least Matthew stays in the background pulling the strings of his daughters "empire". Joe Simpson is just a sickening, irritating media dad.

Yeah, I'm aware of that frost-tipped douchebag and everything he's done to pimp out his daughters. I totally agree with you. But it’s still very strange to me that he can have so much success with Ashlee. I mean, say what you want to about Jessica’s music, at least the girl can sing. At least you can feel reasonably confident that she would make it to Hollywood on American Idol, ya know? A buxom blonde with a slightly above average voice and an amazing body can easily be pimped out to the rest of the world by her Dad. But Ashlee?? Seriously, what does she have going for her besides her last name? It’s been proven time and time again that she can NOT sing (see fatty’s video). She doesn’t have half the body or face of Jessica. So what exactly is the attraction? How does she still have a career? It’s seriously a complete mystery to me.
Ashlee Simpson is a second-tier star; someone who only got where she was due to family connections (like Paris Hilton or even Tom Arnold) and not because she has any real talent. Reminds me of the Simpsons Halloween episode in which Homer and Bart go on a Rocket to leave the earth since it is going crazy (thanks to Y2K), only to realize that they are heading to the Sun. There they see celebs like Al Sharpton, Rosie O'Donnell (before her talk show days), and Tom Arnold. They need to update that episode and sub Ashlee for Rosie and have her caterwaul some song of hers which would cause Bart and Homer to abandon the ship.
She got herself looking alright with surgery. "If Angelina can do it..." But the making her into a pop star thing was way insulting our intelligence, and them succeeding for themselves. She was like Jamie Lynn Spears, using big sis's fame to secure some acting acting gigs. Now it looks like she'll be back on that being cast into the Melrose Place remake?
Her lip-syncing on SNL ruined it for her. Jessica is still the hotter one even though she's kinda fat now. Ashlee is looking so much better now because of her plastic surgery (her nose and chin).

I get that and your theory ain't exactly some groundbreaking revelation. But seriously, I don't think she's hot AT ALL. And I'm not just saying that to pile on. There are PLENT of no-talent women that I am ashamed of admitting I find physically attractive (Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Jenny McCarthy). It's just that Ashlee ain't one of them. Not even close, actually. I just don't get it.
