Dont infringe on other's people turf of weirdly disguised bait-in case study of the board that admonishes the fans to prove a point. It wasnt the articulation, its you did this without permission

No one will call out L-bro on this stuff though, but they will T-mac. IT's a double standard.

Bringing it up, I've been asked, how can you compare T-mac to L-Bro????
How can you through L-bro under the bus you &#(%*????

It's amazing how much people hate t-mac. They will through other Rockets fans under the bus so is their passion. Now that's Amazing.

McGrady doesn't make anywhere near the number of effort plays that LeBron does. LeBron led the league in "chase downs". McGrady may be the career leader in "I give ups". In fourth quarters, no one is as relentless as LeBron at driving to the basket and jumping as fearlessly into the teeth of the defense (save, perhaps, Dwyane Wade). Part of the difference is just physical superiority, but McGrady has also has a much more laid back, passive personality. You ever notice how he never even bothers to take a last second shot from behind the half court line at the end of quarters? LeBron will take those, happily. Or how about how hard LeBron will run out on a break, while McGrady instead just trots down the court?

Now, no player will literally max out his effort on every play. But you can't just pick out a few plays and say they're the same type of player when it comes to effort. There's a huge difference in degree.

My point is not that T-mac is as good as Lebron defensively or otherwise. Not at all.

T-mac is playing on a bad wheel and has a lot more wear and tear, but even in his prime he was not the defender L-Bro is today.

My point is that people here call T-mac lazy because they see him not expending energy all the time. The point is that this argument is flawed because other players - ones that are seen as the best and that Rockets fan wish they had on their team...also do similar things.

    That's all I am saying.

What I realize from this thread is that there's just a set number of people who hate T-mac no matter what. Even if the Rockets win a ring next year with T-mac on the team, people here will find a way to spin it that he contributed nothing, or that he doesn't deserve any credit. Mark my words, whatever success we have with T-mac on this team...the haters here will find a way to dismiss it.

This is a dumb point, and just another T-mac fan throwing someone else in L who's superior to T-mac under the bus.

Charles Barkley was not a good defensive player at all, but in his prime vs Tracy in his prime, I'd take Charles any day cause he's NOT LAZY. He works his but off on D and Offense even if he sucks on D.

Charles would FOUL instead of that Jamario Moon crap.

What's next?? Don't get mad at Tracy if he travels cause Michael Jordan travels?

Find me a player who says this:

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/ian_thomsen/02/27/weekly.countdown/index.html

"I haven't been the guy who's been fortunate enough to play with Shaq, to play with Tim Duncan. I always seem to have average teams,'' he said. "You take me back in my Orlando days with Shaq? Come on, there are no questions. You take a healthy me and switch me out with Paul Pierce [on the current Celtics]? There's no question. There's definitely no question.

    Tinman,

Correct me if I am wrong but that sounds laziness to me. Put me on a team with other greats so I don't have to do the work and carry the team all by myself.

Tmac QUIT in the Toronto game this season. QUIT. He QUIT. Stopped defending 100%, and stood 1 foot inside the HALF COURT line for 2 staright offensive posessions and watched his teammates play 4 on 5. Once again, he QUIT on the ROCKETS.

F Tmac. In no way do I blame him for our first round failures. I do appreciate his efforts in the 22 game streak. But when the dude quit on his team (and afterwards said he was "just frustrated"), I quit defending or liking him.

EDIT: and for people to compare Lebron to a quitter like TMac makes me want to puke

I never heard Jordan say that.

Heck, LeBron didn't even say that.

Lebron is anything but lazy...in fact, if he's doing anything that appears lazy it's because he was told to do so by the coach (such as guarding the team's worst offensive player and roaming on defense).

Wasn't T-Mac known as a defensive specialist when he was in Toronto?

And... if he does lead us to the championship, I'd take my words back to a degree... Cause the past occurred, and what he did just pissed me off dearly... I just can't forget the past.
