If this did happen I would then deal with the situation appropriately. Otherwise I still dislike Kobe for who he is and what he makes himself out to be.

Some would argue that the period of time that we DIDNT have any "Stars" was the best time in here.

This place was great before Yao and Mcgrady, and it will be fine after them.

My same sentiments!!! I would love for Shaq to come here to back up Yao & then we knock off Kobe & the Lakers in the playoffs on our way to the championship next year. That would be poetic justice!!

You dont have to like Kobe the person....fair enough, but anyone that says he is anything less than an assassin as a player is kidding themselves!

If we had to do a sign trade deal that sent LA TMac and Artest for Kobe and rubbish, I'd do that in a second.

I dont think that move is in Kobes makeup though. I think he'll retire a Laker.

I think that "without shaq" needs to be put to rest, it's not like everyone wins only with shaq and it's not like if kobe wins he'll win it alone..soo..

If he chooses to come to Houston I'd wait at the airport to welcome him. He's a hard worker, great ethic and definitely the Machiavelian that we need. Heck maybe we could also get phil jackson for Adleman.

This thread makes the Nash and Paul rumors look even more like total and utter hype than they already did.

But isn't that kinda selfish, putting the interests of the GARM ahead of that of the team?

I'd rather keep playing against him than have him on our team. I don't hate him like I do some players, but I like him as an opponent. It means something to beat his teams and I like that. I'd be bummed if he joined the Rockets. I love everybody on our team now. I'd rather not root for someone I don't like.

yeah i can see him staying there even if his chances of winning a ring decrease more and more, he's too stubborn about his greatness to take an easier way out.

If it improves our chances to win a title then I'm for it. But yeah I'm with other people when I say that I will be rooting for the team and just pretending the Bryant isn't on it. My championship photo would have Yao and Kobe holding up the trophy together, except Kobe would be photoshopped out into an amorphous shadow kinda like the person in this family photo:

Great! Now everything Simmons says in his articles, podcasts, and on Twitter is now worthy of making a thread. The guy isn't an NBA expert. He's not even a journalist. He's just another fan like us thinking aloud, except his thoughts get a little more attention.

I hate Kobe as a me-first style of player. But you just admire his hard working attitude.

Simmons must be extremely bored or something, it seems like he's making baseless rumors trading every player to any team.

No kidding, it's just funny that two journalists paid based off of their expertise of the sport would even suggest something that ridiculous in the first place is merely what I was commenting on. It doesn't help that they further this useless by suggesting that T-Mac's "star power" would be an enticing piece for the Lakers to consider. "Star power" for a player with a big name coming off microfracture surgery? Yeahhh, okay.

Wayne Campbell - "Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt."

That would be more likely than Kobe playing here next season.
