Rockets Retain Assistant Coaches

thx for the update. that's no surprise considering the heck of a job these guys have done this season

now we just have to be patient and see what we can do the solve the remaining pieces of the puzzle

 

That's pretty quick. Turner was supposedly a candidate for some head jobs last summer; maybe that wasn't really the case?

 

Elston Turner, T.R. Dunn and Jack Sikma have done a great job... Turner with his defense especially.. I think he's under-appreciated. Sikma has done a good job with keeping Yao motivated... just a great group of assistant coaches.. glad to have them back for another season.

 

He was interviewed for the Suns job,but they went with Porter.

 

Good. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

 

All the article is really saying is that we don't plan on getting rid of coaches. If they choose to leave, well that's a different story. I'm sure that if Elston got a head coaching opportunity, he'd be able to take it.

 

Maybe this means ill see Sikma at more of the AAU tourneys my little brother is in. I saw him a few weeks ago, but when I tried to be non chalante about taking his picture, it turned out crazy blurry.

His son plays for a gym called Legends out in the woodlands. My little bro has a tourney out there today so maybe he will be there.

 

Either the contract contained an out clause for head jobs or Rockets gave Turner something for a promise not to leave for another year.

 

I think most assistant coach contracts allow them an out to move up.
