I could have sworn this thread was about the EASTERN Conference Finals and yet all i see is stuff about Kobe. I guess I was wrong oh well Go Magic! (Mods if you need to move this post to the appropriate Magic/Cavs thread please do so)
That is very true. When the Magic started to establish themselves as a title contender they did so with Jameer at the point. He is an All-Star point guard that went into Staples Center and put on a show. They will come out the East next season ...book it.
Once Courtney Lee got the steal and Lebron went after him....I prayed Courtney Lee wouldn't punk out! He took it right to Lebron and D.U.N.K.E.D. on him.
next season??? your picking cleveland to win the series?? and i live in orlando and i heard rumors jameer may try to come back if the magic make it to the finals...but i think thats a horrible idea if its true cuz he would mess up the chemistry...but if he comes in as back up playing about 13 minutes a game i would be fine with that
Yes i havee...but guess who is playing the game itself...NOT STAN, its the orlando magic and the players not the coach... sure he has taken some heat, but what coach hasn't....even Adelman took some heat throughout the season so that startement means nothing....
Pietrus did the same in the 1st half too cuz lebron went after him but OF COURSE U DON T' hear about players dunking when lebron is trying, only the ones he blocks lol
Still think the regular season is meaningless? Like I said, Rockets/Lakers was the exception to the rule.
the main reason why the regular season is meaningless is because the playoffs are played at a whole new level.... in the regular season, it is just one game out of 82, so players don't tend to push themselves and leave everything on the court.... in the playoffs, every single play is significant so it brings out the best in you plus players are in and out of the line ups with injuries, etc so u just can't count it thats why i think regular season is meaningless
OK then. If that's what you believe, then surely you believe the whole notion of the Rockets in the 90's possibly beating Jordan's Bulls is absurd, since we're only basing this on regular season games. Correct?
Yes. I guess Nuggets/Lakers is also an exception? The Nuggets could be up 2-0. There will always be exceptions which is why this "rule" is worthless. If a team is just better than another team, they will likely beat them in both the regular season and playoffs. But when teams are both good, you cannot use the regular season to predict the post-season because playoff basketball is totally different. Also, don't put words in anyone's mouth. Just because someone says the regular season doesn't prove anything doesn't mean they think it's "absurd" if the regular season results do reflect in the playoffs. The point is you have to start from scratch to form an opinion on the playoff matchup instead of assuming the regular season winner will prevail.
I took Cleveland -9 because it's a must win at home and they've been the best home team in the league this year. Also they play better defense than they showed down the stretch in game one. I think they lost sight of the finish line and let up and once momentum swung to Orlando it was too late. Look for Lebron to have a huge game and to finish this one strong. I do think this series is going to be a fight to the end though.
Technical on Mo Williams not called. Won't be called. Varejao flopped when LeBron shoved him on a fast break. Foul on Rafer Alston. Freaking ridiculous.
Unfortunately I missed game 1. The Magic are laying down and playing dead just like game 2 in Boston. Rashard is invisible. At least Turkey-Glue is trying (and failing). Not that impressed with the Cavs. It's 43-20 because the Magic are awful.
