here is to hoping Denver taking advantage of the one actual true homecourt advantage: the altitude while the lakers can run you can expect them to have the same level of endurance the nuggets will have in denver. also here's to hoping the denver fans can be the loudest fans in the nba over the next few days. tired of kobe and his whining act, tired of gasol and his always crying face and tired of phil jacksons arrogance. i cant stand george karl but he is the lesser of two evils if you ask me
Don't know if this has been asked and answered in BB lingo - but what about that foul on Gasol - a kicked ball? - when the ball went between his legs?
Yeah, it would be...especially since they play the same position and are actually great friends. Man, will their draft go down as one of the greatest ever (Born, Melo, Wade)?
Other Notables: All Stars - C.Bosh, J.Howard (drafted last in the 1st round), D.West (unheralded all star), and Mo Williams (as of this year) Starters/Above Average players - Kendrick Perkins, Jason Kapono, LeAndro Barbosa, Kirk Hinrich, TJ Ford, Chris Kaman, Boris Diaw, Steve Blake, Zaza Pachulia, Willie Green, and Kyle Korver.
Do they Lakers really have a chance in Denver? Denver has beat everyone by 10+ points at home this postseason.
I hear ya - I don't really care for Karl either but I much rather see him win a ring (which would be his first) than to see pompous douchebag Jackson win another ring.
Here is what my boy Walter thinks. The Nuggets have covered every game in the playoffs thus far, which makes it really difficult to go against them here. However, the Lakers, known for not trying very hard in every game, have shown us that they like to give 100 percent after a loss. Following their four playoff defeats, the Lakers have beaten their opponents by an average score of 107-85.
If the Lakers make the extra pass, cut to the basket and hit the boards they should win. It's gonna be tough,Denver can't get too excited if they get a lead but if they defend well and get Nene/Martin involved it will make things easier for Melo/Billups tonight. JR Smith is the wild card,he might not get many minutes because he can't stop Kobe but he has to shoot well. It will get testy but I hope the refs will be fair and keep things under control.
how in the world was that a foul on bynum? nene put his arm out into him and bynum just stood there. of course taking him out and putting odom in is probably good.
i would love to know what has happened to LA's movement and discipline on offense. the number of times fisher or ariza hold the ball for the final 10 seconds of the shot clock and then throw up a terrible shot is amazing. plus, once the clock gets that low, it's like fisher and ariza think the world will end if they pass it to someone else with a better chance of hitting the shot. and speak of the devil, fisher and ariza team up to massively botch a fastbreak and give the nuggets free throws. carmelo playing so much better than he ever has is why denver is winning this series so far.
i think it's funny how in the NBA, moreso than any other sport, the perception of a player is tied so much to the performance of his teammates. for instance, i realize carmelo has taken huge strides this year, but if they don't get chauncey, those guys are sitting at home watching the conference finals right now and noone is slobbering all over melo's knob. if tracy doesn't get hurt this year, ron artest is being hailed right now as the feel good story of the decade for his good behavior.
The Lakers are playing dumb on defense with the fouling. They didn't bring their thinking caps tonight. Melo is dominating even without his outside shot falling. Chauncey will need to score for the Nuggets to win.
