    i dont get why a dog would attack someone I assume is around enough for it to know it is not an enemy/stranger

    no they don't. if people can actually train their damn dogs then they don't. if you own a dog you are supposed to be his/her leader and tell them how to act and what to do.

    Also, with that kind of bread of dog you are not supposed to rough play with them because teaching them to fight and be vicious. People have the tendency of doing that with tug of war games with the dog that they think made be harmless.Yes Pits are the number one dog that attacks people but they are the friendliest/sweetest and the most easily trained dogs.

    I apologize for offending the sensibilities of those who posted their shocking disbelief that I would post such harmful verbiage.

    I'm sure I must be thinking of a different James Harrison, rather than the paragon of rectitude whom I have apparently wrongfully besmirched herein.

    It's still a shame that the child was harmed, regardless.
