I think he was referring to the part where the brewers manager said he might not have said anything if they had retired bourn and matsui at the start.

but then, couldn't he have kept it in his pocket in case they did it again later in the game and one of them got a hit?

Right - but why was that stupid? If they had just retired them, then there would be no benefit to saying anything. And as you said, he potentially could have used it later in the game.

From the angle they keep showing on the replay it certainly looked like Berkman got his hand down before he was tagged. But with Kendall blocking the plate with his leg and where the ump was standing, Kendall definitely got the call.

I like Puma and Coop showing some fire, usually we are one of the most complacent teams in the league.

You can tell this team is starting to get a little confidence in themselves, IMO.

    Bah.

    We're lucky we're only down a run. He was laboring. 106 pitches in 6 & 1/3.

    Not usual Roy numbers.

It would be nice if ANY Astros pitcher could regularly get any of these guys out:

    Braun
    Hardy
    Hart
    Cameron

Been haunting us for going on two or three years now. A team of Jim Edmunds'.

Man, what a downer of a loss. When you've got a 3-run lead and Roy pitching, you've got to think a win is likely. What drives me crazy is how many of these runs come on free passes....a BB and HBP in the 7th and both score.

Every time we get close to .500, we take a step back. Ughhhhh. And to make things worse, we absolutely blow against the NL Central: 9-17.

Don't worry, we'll hit .500 the last week of August.

I see Coop was managing up a storm from the dugout ... pulled his 1st & 2nd nobody out trick again, & it paid of just like it did the other day.

My bad, that's what I meant.

In between being steamed, & watching Melo VS Koby, I effed up. Forgive me.

Also, I'd love to see what our bullpen's ERA is when we have the lead. I know at one time we lead the league in Blown Saves. Somebody other than Sampson and Hawkins are going to have to step up consistently.

You do realize that Matsui tried to bunt in the 9th, right?
