[ R U M O R S ] Shopping Tyrus? The Chicago Bulls are heavily shopping Tyrus Thomas around the league, according to DraftExpress.com ... Carlos Boozer opting out? ... Bucks not trading Richard Jefferson ... Clippers willing to move the top pick for the right package ... Ricky Rubio not interested in playing in Memphis or Oklahoma City? ... Looks like they want to unload for a Power Foward. Would we be willing to part with Scolandry and keep either one? Carlos Boozer also??? Opinions...
only for the past 2 years....man i'd LOVE to acquire Thomas....i hope that rumor is true, give them Landry as the main part of the deal...what exactly do they want in return?
Thomas doesn't do that much more than Landry does...if that. He is a little more versatile of a defender (blocks, steals...just longer), and younger, but I'd pass. Noah, on the other hand, I'd be interested in.
He's be much more effective than landry next to Yao. His J is at least as good as Landry's if not slighlty better, but he blocks shots better, runs the floor better, and would get a ton more dunks than landry just playing off of Yao. The rumor says they want to package thomas and hinrich for a "big time power forward" because they think Thomas is too much like Noah....
why are we picking Tyrus? I would compare him with Stromile Swift... Fast, athletic, versatile in defence... always being described as high potential but never reached that level Anyway, i still think Tyrus is better than Swift but not an ideal deal for Rox. Unless there is a deal including T-Mac with reasonable return. Else, I would not pull the trigger.
Noah? are u kidding me? at best he's a taller version of Chuck Hayes. The dude got no jumper whatsoever. We need big that can shoot the Js. Chuck hayes might be shorter but he way stronger so no thanks. I'll take Tyrus Thomas though. I'll trade them Landry for Thomas. He's the young longer PF that we're missing.
Swift never reached where Tyrus is at now, and tyrus hasn't been in th eleague very long, he's improving his game every year and the only reason he hasn't blown up much more is because he's had to share his minutes, but he's the kind of guy who can average a double double for you along with 2 steals and possibly 3 blocks a game..... both of our current PFs can average double doubles with enough minutes, but neither can come close to the steals and blocks.
Tyrus Thomas is horrid. I wouldn't want him here at all... Bulls are still stupid as hell for dealing Aldridge for Tyrus Swift.
I have seen him play...I just don't like his game for a guy that has potential THROUGH THE F'N ROOF. If anything, the LMA deal was silly.
Noah was awesome in the playoffs. He's be wonderful for the Rockets, but I don't think there's any way the Bulls part with him unless they're getting a star in return.
Lets be real though....we know what 2 players the Bulls want in return for Thomas/Hinrich.... Bosh and Amare.
I agreed that Noah played well during the playoff but if you watch him play, most of his points are from hustling around. He couldn't make a jumper to save his life. Unless we trade Yao and go another direction. This team need players that are capable of hitting that lil 15 footers. Noah can't do that.
PF position is actually one of our strong points. Plus he isn't a very reliable scorer. No thank you.
I think he would potentially be solid for our team, but the question is whether or not he can bring some intensity to this team. His height would be great to have alongside Yao. That's the major thing that we have lacked once Yao went down. I would rather not have Hinrich though. If that's the price for taking Thomas, I dont think it's really worth it. I would much rather have Brooks and Lowry! I don't think we can expect Thomas to be an amazing star that will lead this team, but I think he can be a valuable role player to cause matchup problems for other teams. Here is an insight to Thomas fromThe Bleacher Report
Disagree. Swift's second year: 11.8 and 6.4 with 1.7 blocks 11 games putting up 20+ 10 double-doubles 8 craptastic games (5 points or less) Ty Thomas this year: 10.8 and 6.4 with 1.9 blocks 6 games putting up 20+ 18 double doubles 13 craptastic games (5 points or less) If Swift had the slightest bit of professional pride or desire, he'd be at worst a top 10 center every year, and possibly a top 5 center.
