Camby or Deandre Jordan. They don't really need either one, if they draft Griffin. Griffin can play either PF/C.

    Zazaaaaaaaaaaaa

The guy's a warrior. Plays all out and doesn't back down to thugs who try to intimidate him (KG).

A guy to look at for the minimum would be Chris Mihm. He's had the misfortune of either being injured or being stuck behind multiple quality big men (Gasol/Bynum in LA; M.Gasol/Darko in Memphis). He came back healthy last year but was traded from LA to Memphis in a salary dump.

I'm not saying Mihm will light the world on fire. But if the Rockets are just looking for a situational player to give them size, rebounding and some shot blocking for a few minutes per game, then the Rockets could do a lot worse than Chris Mihm.

Matt Nielsen, he's 6' 10.5" without shoes. Spencer Hawes is the same height but he's listed as a 7 footer with shoes.

now that the clippers will take Griffin, are they more likely to want to trade camby or jordan?

only because he's played 12 years...but you're somewhat exaggerating, also lately he's played more than early in his career....i dont really want him though, just throwing out names, his salary would be hard to match without giving up an important guy in our rotation, joardan may be possible though

I think there will be a few availible from the clippers. I was puzzled why morey drafted dorsey before jordan last year. They could use a te to get jordan. I don't care all he can do is dunk, blks shots and rebound. I'll take that in a 20 yr old 7ft er for 18 mins a night any day.

Doubt they'd move Jordan, would be nice tho to have him. I just see LAC wanting to move the more heftier contract - Camby.

    Tmac for Camby/Kaman

Clippers escape from Kaman's contract and still have 2 legitimate bigmen in Griffin/Randolph. Clippers add 3.5 million in payroll this upcoming season, but save 23.5 million total through 2012 by ditching Kamans contract.

Rockets gain a long term bigman in Kaman who can backup Yao or play alongside him at the 4 as well as some cap flexibility this year to resign Artest/Wafer. In the unlikely scenario that Yao bolts in 2010, we have a legitimate starting center waiting to step in. Camby comes off the books at the end of the year.

It took 9 pages of posts before the appearance of the Darko Machine...

His contract expires at the end of next season, and he's thinking of jumping back to the Euroleague because apparently he sees no future in Memphis.

7-0, 275+... can run the floor, might conceivably be able to play the 4 alongside Yao and turn the lane into a 10-foot concrete barrier, i.e. no more Bynum/Gasol volleyball matches over Hayes/Scola/Landry. At the very least, a solid 2nd-unit 5 to reduce Yao's foot mileage over 82 games. And a chance to play with a 'guts football' squad like this one might stiffen his resolve a bit to stand and deliver. He could be had for Joey Dorsey and some other cap filler IMO...

Like this idea, I was pitching Tmac and Barry for Bdiddy, Camby, and DeAndre Jordan not Kaman. I could see Bdiddy at the 2 to give us some scoring off the bench or start.

He explained it last summer, and reiterated it in his recent press conference. The Rockets felt Dorsey was the best defensive big in the draft. Physically speaking, Dorsey isn't as undersized as people make him out to be. He's very athletic, he's got long arms, and he's very wide and strong. His problem this season doesn't have to do with his size. The Rockets don't like his attitude and the way he dealt with his foot injuries.

I was thinking the same about Mihm but I wasn't certain about his health. If he's healthy, he seems like a good option for a team that is undersized at the four. I don't see us paying a backup more than we paid Deke this year. Mihm is in that price range.

Also, I don't think it makes sense to pay a backup for your big money guys like Yao and T-Mac, big money. The big money guys are big money guys because they can win games when they are on the floor. If Yao (or any other big money guy) needs a costly backup it should come out of his salary.

Do you think Cleavland's GM worries about who he can get next year to sub in for LeBron?
