I'm turning 30 tomorrow, and though I did the big celebration with my friends over the weekend, tomorrow I'd like to just go for a nice dinner with me and my girl. I've had a real craving for steak lately so I wanted to get opinions on some places. I've been to Ruth's Chris, Pappa's, Fleming's, Sullivan's, and Perry's so I'm looking to try something new. What would you guys recommend? I thought about Del Frisco's, but they don't post a full menu on their site so I don't have a clue what the prices are. I'm also a little hesitant about going there due to some not so good reviews on b4ueat. What about Morton's?

I've only had the filet mignon there, so I can't attest to the steak, but its pretty damn fancy there so yeah I'd say its expensive.

Pappa's and Flemings would have been my suggestions...Del Friscos is fantastic but I have never eaten at the one in Houston. It could be bad, just like Bob's (one of the best in Dallas, terrible here) was. Their prices are comparable to Pappa's, but if the b4ueat reviewers say it's bad, then it might be

I will say avoid Smith and Wolensky's...it is really not good.

Either Killens (in Pearland) or Mo's ( Saw Shane Battier here). I just go for the Kobe beef and they are like butter at both of these places.

    Fogo is too casual.

Been to Del Frisco's many time. The atmosphere is awesome. The steaks are really good as well. I enjoyed it there

If I was going to rank my favorite as far as the steaks go.

    1. Ruth Chris'
    2. Del Frisco
    3. Mortons
    4. Pappas
    5. Flemming

If i was going to put in the atmopshere into the steak itself I would go with Del Frisco's because it's more happening.

Try America's if you have never been there. Though it's not as formal as Del Frisco's, its definitely not as casual as some of the others. Their Churasco is one of the best steaks I have ever had!

I have to second that one. It's really really amazing....not a typical steakhouse place but that dish is one of my favorites.

I live in Omaha now but Pappas had the best steak in Houston IMHO, come on up to Omaha and I will show you a real steak :)

If you haven't been to Vic & Anthony's I'd definitely suggest that place.

I thought about this but the fact that it's a Landry's restaurant has steered me away up until now. Maybe i'll give it a shot.

I work across the street from America's so I have been there many times. Are the prices at Del Frisco's and Morton's pretty much in line with each other? I read that Morton's is more of an intimate setting while Del Frisco's is livelier.

    Del Frisco's or Tony's.

Tony has a killer Filet with Truffle butter. Fantastic.

Del Frisco's had the most declicious bone in ribeye I've ever tasted.

How do you like Tony's compared to Mark's? I've been to Mark's several times and absolutely love it. Those seem to be the 2 places that most people turn to for fine dining.

Regardless of whether you go for your birthday or not, you definitely need to go there. One of my favorite steakhouses.

    Fatty, your right.

I forgot about Vic and Anthony's I would put that third on my list very close to Del Frisco's
