I like him, but it would seem the rockets would have to give up to much in aquiring him.

Okur would be a beast on our team. The rockets want a PF/C to shoot three's, and he can shoot and MAKE them well.

Memphis would be crazy to let go of Marc Gasol. He's the only thing they got out of the Pau deal, except of course for cap space.

Marc could end up being better than his brother. He's very strong, a solid post defender, and an improving offensive player.

Doesn't matter. Okur isn't going to accept backup role because he'll get starting role in so many teams. Like him or not, he's a top 10 center in NBA.

Zaza Pachulia or Birdman. Okur is going to want to much.

i guess that's what i'm wondering, how much would we have to give for him? he's on his rookie contract, so he's making like 2-3 mil, i'm just not sure how much memphis likes him, he obviously has potential, but memphis has been known to make some questionable trades, so looking into it isn't a bad idea.

Can they find someone good from Euro L to fill the 3rd center role? If not straight backup?

I am personally hoping for Rasho or Krstic. Both are solid and will be a very solid backup. I am leaning more towards to Kristic since he has the potential to revert to his pre injury form and coming from Russia, will be a whole lot cheaper.

No way will Memphis give up Gasol for cheap. He is one of their future main players if not one already.

Am I missing something? Who is our 2nd center role? With Yao out and Mutombo retired, we don't have ANY centers. That is why we are in such dire need for just a backup. :(

Can we trade for Al Harrington? He's big enough to play backup c, and can play PF with yao in.

Yeah, he is a little undersized. For some reason, I thought he was 6'10, possibly 6'11. Just read he was 6'9.

I mean, if the said Euro center isn't good enough to play the backup role, get one for a 3rd center. We'll need 3 next season IMO.

with the types of injuries yao gets we need more than a back up. almost a 2nd center. maybe someone wh can score and young enough to develop to replace yao down the line.

Those are my 2 picks as well.

    Gortat or birdman.

Like I said in another thread, I think Birdman and Landry with in the line up, they could be a great blocking duo.

I think Pachulia is a solid, realistic option. Atlanta has a lot of bigger priorities ahead of him so maybe he'll get away.

Sheed all the way!!!!!!!! he would be great for the team on many assets. be brings more toughest, 3pt shooting, and post D. only if we could get him.
