What position do you think Morey focus needs to be in the off-season.

Me personally I see the need for the to look at the back up center position. We need a big man who can play if Yao is out and can help when playing teams with mutiples bigs on the floor.

    Sign RON

    Get a backup at C

    Decide Tmac issue

IF Tmac gone, Get a good shooter and PG who can shot

I don't know why you guys keep talking about the PG position. It along with the PF are set for years to come. If Artest signs, then the SF position will be set as well. As much as I'd like a backup C, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't addressed this offseason if Morey can't get a vet to sign for the vet minimum, because Chuck played well and there's a reason why Morey got Dorsey granted he has yet to play. I think we need a playmaker to make life easy for the team and actually put points on the board.

I think T-Mac controls the destiny of the team including the offseason. If reports indicate he'll be 75% healthy at training camp, Morey will re-sign Ron and go get a backup C. If the reports aren't pleasing, Morey will obtain his backup C via trade who'll be packaged with our new playmaker. I'm hoping T-Mac comes back healthy not because I'm his fan/supporter but because I really want to see the potential of this team 100% healthy. I think at full strength, it's a 60-65+ win team. The position Morey takes on the backup C will be more revealing of T-Mac's health than anything else, just my opinion.

We do need bigs, but I voted for the best available player mainly because of McGrady's continuous absence.

For the Rox team, the offseason focus should be extending Yao...

I stopped reading after "What position"

I lose again. I voted for resign everyone. I hate it when I don't get the majority. I knew the Rockets needed a back-up center but gosh, I thought I'd ... no excuses. I'll try harder next time.

I must be the only one who doesn't care about a backup center. You can't get a quality player at center these days. I'd rather play the way we have been all year during the season and before Mutombo while taking my chances with Yao. We finally have an identity, we should blow teams out during the season on a regular basis, Yao will get more rest as a result.

Do you really want to make going after an overpaid, underskilled, big man the main priority? I don't think so. This team needs a scorer/closer first and foremost.

I want to vote for 2, backup center and PG. I really like AB and Lowry, but I really think we need a vet pg. Someone like Davis, Billups, Nash. AB would bring so much energy off the bench and could play either 1 or 2. He would be our Terry, but younger, quicker, and much longer useful life! He would also be able to learn alot from a star pg, right now he has learned from Alston, lol. If we get someone like those 3 I mentioned before, it bring better decision making and more scoring.

It's hard to pin it on a particular position. At full strength, what are our weaknesses? We're a poor finishing team. We are a poor passing team. We don't have enough players that can create good shots for themselves. We get easily rattled against pressure defense.

Those things can be improved by just adding better basketball players, with a focus on improving the perimeter play.

I don't care about what position, just get a good starter who can jump and dunk.

Then trade Shane Battier for Gay. Shane's value is high now.
I feel so funny to read this board. Hayes/scola/landry can play centers effectively. Dorsey will be there too. backup centers are not priority at all. but for sure adding an efficient player like mcdyss is fine. But Rockets definitely need a real pg like nash/kidd/miller who can control the temp and no TO prone.
