odom is another softy, we need tough physical guys not a softy that show up one game and disappears in the next. It's all about whether aron brooks will develop some ball controlling skills and tracy can come back healthy to take away from of the artest shots and dribble dribble

Lol. He's funny. He's inconsistent. When he plays hard, he's good.

How much would you pay for Odom? possibly a MLE but no way he would agree to something around 5.5 mil. He made over 14 million this season but his numbers were waaaay down from usual.

    2008-2009: 11.3 pts, 8.8 rbs, 2.6 asts.

Much of this can be explained by his minutes being lower since gasol became a laker. this season he averaged only 29 mins per game - but he got more time when bynum went out during Feb and March (36 and 32 mins respectively those 2 months, but his play was inconsistent w/ 16 pts in feb and 11 in march).

Stats arent everything, but Odom doesnt really come to mind as someone who makes a huge impact outside of the box score. He's a versatile player but isnt a hustle, extra effort, or high IQ kind of guy and I wasnt impressed by his D at any point during our series this year w/ him. He's incredibly inconsistent, and really seemed to disappear during our round 2 series vs him, which can't be a good sign if he's on ur team.

He's 29 yrs old and in the window of a basketball player's "prime years" but I wouldnt pay anywhere near 14 mil or anything far above the MLE for this kind of player in his "prime". Morey's the man and can find someone for far less $ and probably even better upside if this really is odom's prime. Go rox.

The shots Ron took off of AB's dribble penetration when he opens or when he's standing still left free is something I'd rather have than Marion chunking the ball to the rim. They're both versatile players but Ron is better, just my opinion. I like Marion, just not when he's shooting.

this isnt locked yet? the only laker i would consider taking is bynum. he seems like the only decent character on that whole dam team.

even as skilled as kobe is and as much heart as he has. i dont think i would trade 4 of our players for him.

    odom is garbage.

The Rockets can swap these guys if they would like to exchange toughness for cowardly antics, defense for nothing, effort for laziness, and leadership for boneheadedness

I believe we can sign and trade Artest.

However, sending Artest to the Lakers would guarantee them a couple of championships.

I think Odom has lost the lateral quickness to play SF and I prefer the Scola/Landry combination at PF (Especially considering the price tag).

At this moment I'm thinking we keep the team as it is and get a backup C. Offer Artest a fair contract for 3 years with the 3rd year an option.

Hell no!!! I live in LA and I know how bad Odom is... To be fair, he has above-average overall skills, but this guy has no heart at all and he only shows up once like every 3-4 games..

Odom would be a better fit for the rockets than Artest IMO. Even though Artest does bring in an element of toughnes, he often times hurts the team by holding on to the ball too long only to jack up some crazy shot.

That being said, Odom wants to stay with the Lakers and he know's he has to take a paycut.

Lamar Odom is a lazy defender and does not play hard... No thanks... I'll pass... Ron can come back any day...
