Neither guys are primary options on a championship team, period. Not to mention, neither has the mentality to control a series. During those yrs u posted, who was as good as tracy? I guess that should mean Pau should score more, which is probably true. Its a matter of what kind of game u want to play. With yao because of his physicall strength and limitations, you have to play a slow down style where he has to touch the ball a lot. Pau can play either way because he can score different ways.Who wouldn't play well with kobe just as who would play well with tracy healthy?

Yao beats up Gasol 2 to 1 in first 3 playoff games. That one game Yao was taken out by refs, didn't play many minutes against Gasol.

It MIGHT be true teams sometimes can cover Yao with single coverage (by fronting most time). However, it still gives you much more open looks than playing some1 else (Scola/Landry for example).

You can never build a team around Gasol. What a stupid topic. Next time someone might suggest trade Yao for a bag of chips. Dumb!

That's not single coverage. There is a 2nd guy half guarding Yao when he's fronted.

You also can't build a championship team around a player who gets hurt every year!

Gasol is not better than Yao. I keep Yao and you Lakers can keep your soft guy that will not show up in the next series. I can see him being bullied by Nene and Birdman.

I think Pau is superior than Yao on the offensive end because he can do more than Yao can. He is not as easy to take away. Yao however is much better on the defensive end. That is where Pau shows his true softness. I do think Pau would be serve a team better as a 1st option than Yao, but Yao would be the best 2nd option in the NBA if he played with Kobe or another dominant wing. Either way, like has been stated before, you aren't going to win a championship with either guy as your #1 option.

On second thought, I probably would trade Yao for Gasol but only after game 3 of this series. With Yao sitting on the Lakers' bench.

Call me crazy. I would rather trade Yao for Shaq then Gasol. It will be a win-win, the Suns seems to have the best team doctors in the country (having helped oldies like Grant Hill and Shaq to maintain their "production"); and we all know Shaq IS NOT SOFT and can still hang with the best of them.

Just a joke. Someday,if Gasol need to be defended like Yao, maybe you can begin to talk that.
If w/o Kobe as teammeate, Gasol lead this Rocket, HAHA...

Somebody's smoking something pretty strong. Yao >>> Gasol. Ridiculous question. Nobody builds a team around Gasol. Many teams would love to build their team with Yao as the centerpiece.
