Should Deke come back, not as a player, but as a assistant coach or special coach to help the rockets

It wouldn't be a bad thing. Him just being on the bench is a major plus

I wish. But a great player has moved on.

We could put a life-sized cardboard cutout of Dikembe by the locker room though.

Deke should be allowed to decide his fate with the Rockets. If he wants a coaching gig I am all for it.

I think the one thing I'll miss the most next season will be Deke :(

Deke truly help stabilize the rockets during the "era of bad feeling" when the rockets were on the brink of chaos(overstatement), but we can really use a person who knows how to control the atmosphere

Deke did his job. He helped Landry and Brooks become real NBA players.

Wouldn't be nice if once in a while some of you could at least spell his name right?

I'd love to have Deke back... though I think it's over for him.. too much rehab, he's too old and his heal time would be too long. He had a great NBA career, a lot of memorable moments.

From what I observed today from the Rockets' "bigs", a life-sized cardboard cutout might have done more against Gasol and Bynum.

A lot of what Deke did can't be taught. 7'2" with a great sense of timing.

He's got more important things to do with his life.

There're things in life that are bigger than basketball, my guess is he's retired for good now.

    No way, dude.

It would just be "Patrick Ewing, Part II".

If we bring any old Rockets staff back for assistant coach duties. It should be TT. He's unlikely come back, after the way Rockets treated him.

I think you spelled his name wrong.

If anyone were to honestly come back and be an assistant coach to this team I would hope it would be Carrol Dawson. Don't think his health is up to it these days though. I just don't see deke as a great assistant coach though.

He has a world to save. He has better and more meaningful things to do out there in the world instead of helping the Rockets.

He said he wants to spend time with his kids and not coming back.
He talked about his retirement after this season on sports radio 1560AM.

I'd rather Deke leave the NBA and spend 100% of his time on humanitarian efforts.

Let him be the personal coach of Chuck and Joey?
