We'd get more from that than throwing 8 million at Ron Ron.

I agree, 8 million is too much for Chris Anderson as well. He's worth an MLE tops.

I would say that this poll is a little to black and white.

    the options should be

    Yes and trade Tmac
    Yes and trade Battier
    No because of financial reasons
No because he doesn´t worth it.

on one leg this year? you're right.

if ron was on dallas, dirk and terry might not get to shoot so no, they would not eat us for lunch.

Did you watch Tmac every year as a Rocket?

Which one of them made it to the 2nd round?

Which one of them would get into kobe's face if kobe threw an elbow at him/

Tmac on record loves kobe like his brother.

Are you someone who believes that "2 points is 2 points" whether it's a monster dunk in the opponent's face or a lucky floater in the lane? That deflecting the ball out of bounds is the same as blocking a layup attempt into the 4th row?

Andersen leads the league in blocks per minute and as a result is a huge momentum changer.

Not that I would pay $8 million...that's steep, but the MLE ($6 million next year?) is reasonable, in my opinion.

i say YES because i think the rockets will get a real steal on the price if they want to bring him back.

why do people think he will command a $10M+ salary?

he might WANT that, but what team out there has the space this summer to make that offer? of those teams, who is willing to sacrifice 2010 cap space by making a big signing this summer? and if there is anyone left, who of the remaining teams will choose to make that sacrifice for ron artest?

i simply don't see him getting more than MLE offers from around the league. i think if the rockets want him, he can be had for MLE money or maybe just a bit higher to outbid other teams. give him 3 years, and use him as a 6th man from now on. if he doesn't like that, offer him a one year extension so he can test the market in 2010 when a lot of teams will have a lot of space, and might be more inclined to spend.

    slightly off topic:

would you do a S&T of ron for outlaw and pryzbilla?

Dont sign Artest ????????????? What's going on in your mind???

there's some who can play better than he do in his position though, can they bring us what we really lack, toughness in mind and no scary of any other team physically.

why refs get strict to LA after game 2? why Kobe got cleaner play after game 2 but not game1 when he intentionly hurt Battier? What i believe is Artest's madness in that game works to LA even to the league.

without Artest , we couldn't have gotton 2-2 after Yao's leave
Kobe,Ariza and some LAs are dirty players, and the league have so many dirty guys, give them a reason to play cleaner to Rox, THAT IS ARTEST.

so resign him from purely basketball thoughts

If we can get Ron Ron for 3 years at MLE money, go for it, no more than that, he is not worth a 10 million contract.

We already have bad contracts in our 2 stars, we need to start being more cautious financially.

Yes,but what can we get in return for him? I hoped quite a lot from him today and was disappointed, however I'm not opposed to re-signing him to around 7-8 M for the next 3 years. He took us into the 2nd round and brought much needed toughness to a soft team like ours.

artest wasn't a top 3 player in the first round for us. (yao and scola)

artest wasn't even a top 5 player for us in the 2nd round. (scola, brooks, battier, and landry all have performed better).

if that's your reasoning, then you basically keep every guy on this roster b/c they did make it to the 2nd round  .

I would love to resign him. But the real tough question is for how much and how long.

Ron had a far better supporting cast then T-mac did.

Basically, t-mac lost with this team last year to Utah except no lowery, no rafer, and a very inexperienced brooks.

Ron had the same team, with Lowry, without rafer, adn with a vastly improved brooks.

Both lost. And T-mac played way better.

This is what happens when Artest tries to neutralize Tmac.

DID YOU SEE THAT TINMAN? McGrady actually passed to someone open when he was being guarded close and didn't throw up a wild shot.

I'm sorry but your credibility just took a big hit with this statement. 8 million for Anderson is absolutely ridiculous. He's not worth more than 4-5 million at most (I'm being very generous here too) and there's no way he's gonna get 8 million per year.

yes, but he can't shoot more then 10 times a game, hes not tmac or kobe. He needs to be a role player instead of a superstar which he isn't. Also im sick and tired of everyone saying ron brought us to the 2nd round, he had a part but he didn't do it by himself. all of our starters including yao in the blazers series won it for us.

    this is his postseason stats:

    15.6ppg, 4.3rpg, 4.2apg, 39.4%fg, 27.7%fg (a whopping 6.5 3s per game)

    the guys he was guarding?

    roy
    26.7ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.8apg, 45.9%fg, 47.1% 3s

    ariza
    9.3ppg, 48.8%fg, 36.8fg% 3s.

really? we got enough tough players on this team. i roll with scola all day long if you wanna talk toughness. did you see his back today? geez.

we need guys who can actually put the ball in the basket.
