Donaghy attended Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, Pennsylvania[3] and is one of four NBA referees from the same school along with Joey Crawford, Mike Callahan, and Ed Malloy.[8] So Joey Crawford, Mike Callahan, and corrupt Donaghy all came from the same high school. Guess who 2 of our officials are today! Yup, J. Crawford and Mike Callahan.
Surrender Earlier in the day, federal sources told the New York Daily News that Donaghy would surrender to the FBI and plead guilty to gambling charges. The Daily News also learned that the bookies in the scandal were two high school classmates of Donaghy's who embellished their mob ties.
What if this is all a plan by Stern to throw us off our game... but he's not going use Joey.. sorta like a Decoy.
If Hayes does indeed sit for foul trouble, I believe Carl Landry can come in and have the game of his life on both sides of the ball. The general public knows Landry is all heart and dedication with the odds stacked agasint you. That's a great side-story for this soap opera.
what a freaking coincident! but 2 crawford's in the same game? who is the lead? joey or dan? i have some respect for dan crawford. maybe he can offset some of the bad act from joey. maybe.
Lets not forget that Dan Crawford is the official who called the out of bounds on Kobe in game 1. Then Dan just looked at Kobe like he was a raving lunatic. Kobe: "Can't you see what the front of my jersey says???" Crawford: "Yeah, and I saw your fingertip touch the ball last. Now quit crying and play ball."
I've always liked and respected Dan Crawford. He was the first referee that I recognized when I started watching the NBA. He just seemed like a nice guy.

Wow. This fully reinforces conspiracy theorists NBA-wide. The fact that a fanbase could predict the assignment of the head referee is baffling at best, and downright pernicious at worst. Hopefully the Rockets have a "J. Crawford" contingencymitigation plan they can dust off for the game. Which leads me to a related question. Since in the playoffs there is plenty of time to game plan, do teams ever gameplan specific referees that may be problematic? I remember in Seven Seconds or Less it was mentioned that there were referees that Mike D'Antoni didn't want to see at all costs.
Can't be coincidence, guess they breeded demons down there. Wasn't Ed Malloy a good official though ?

Might as well just assign Hakeem Olajuwon, Otis Thorpe and Kenny Smith. Lakers are only 4-6 in the last 10 Callahan has "officiated" Joey Crawford is a fixture at the #1 spot on the Circle of 7 Fixer list Danny Crawford is bad, but only in the middle of the pack as far as bad NBA refs. Look for the officiating today to be abysmal and one-sided. Settle down guys. ^^This is taken from a Laker board.
