This is expected, but frustrating. We seem to be headed the way of the 300 Spartans. By the way, who were the refs for the King-Lakers Game 6 back in '02? Honestly I thought Game 2 was pretty close to that one as far as how bad it was called. You know what, say what you want about the past as far as years are concerned. Even if you don't let it dictate your actions, the league admitted they made a horrendous call that lead to top scorer being ejected in Game 2. Couple this with, if its true, the game shouldn't be reffed by him by the book and ............wow. The arrogance and blatant actions are amazing. Guess the slogan works. Maybe we should make an "Amazing Happens" commercial with someone reading the ref assignments. I keep saying it. The NBA and its refs are like a mafia. When you look shocked at a terrible call, they reply, "You didn't see notin." What's worse is that the coaches and players get fined for speaking out. They're Goodfellas and Crawford is their Pesci.
To be fair I think that applies only to the regular season because it also says "Crews will be determined before the season." In the playoffs, you don't have your regular crews -- a lot of refs don't get to do the playoffs. Joey Crawford and Danny Crawford usually are chiefs of their own crews in the regular season but in this game they are reffing together.
Confirmed. J. Crawford officiated May 6th, meaning he wouldn't be allowed to officiate in L.A. according to the standards and practices set forth in the NBA's own referre guide until Wednesday, May 20th. In the .PFD file scroll to page 76. Link to game 6 box score to confirm date. http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=290506013
Wishful thinking? You bet! But, for now, I'd rather extend positive energy than negative energy. The universe doesn't care about what you "say", but they type of energy you extend. If all we do is cry about the officiating, then the universe will deliver the reasons for us to cry. So lets quit crying and be superiorly confident that the game will be called fairly. That is my wish. (ok, done with my newage, universe thingy)
^^^ co-sign RocketRaccoon, don't set the team up for bad calls. As far as the 14 day rule, I do think it is a regular season rule, as Playoff Ref crews are chosen and rewarded for their tenure and performance. I hate to say this, but Joey Crawford might be the best ref for the Rockets in this game. Yeah, I just said that.
There are about 60 refs. 42 have playoff experience. Elsewhere in the rules it says playoffs specifically when there is a rule difference such as for the technical foul fines and suspensions.
Meanwhile, nobodys are officiating the Magic-Celts game. UGHHHH! Gotta stay positive. COMMONNNNN ROCKETS!
chuck hayes is the single most important player on this team right now. if he picks up two cheap fouls like in game 5, this thing is over. that's what really worries me..
I think its quite obvious why the Crawford crew is in this game. It really does not matter which team wins that game 7. The winner will lose to the Lebrons in 5 so it really does not matter. But the Rockets CAN take out Kobe in a fair fight. And I just guess the NBA is not prepared for a Rockets/Cavs or a Nuggets/Cavs finals. I think we can count on Hayes sitting in foul trouble before the 5 minute TV timeout in the first quarter. I wouldn't be surprised if he has 2 fouls and gets his third on a ticky tack call while his backup is waiting to come in at the scorers table. And I am sorry, but there is this thing called a snowball effect and if Hayes goes down early with foul trouble things WILL snowball, the Rockets will trail big. And all of that will be because of the officiating.
I just saw this and simply can not believe the lengths that the NBA will go to. I swear I might never watch another NBA game is this douchebag makes early questionable calls to take out our key players from playing a good aggressive fair game. I reallly have no more respect for the NBA for even allowing this crotch sucker to officiate this game. If it wasn't for my die hard love for the Rockets team, I would boycott the NBA all together like I did wrestling as a kid when I found out it was fixed.
