Curry and Chandler will be really good players. But Ming, too, will be really good, plus he'll bring TV coverage, plus he'll bring in lots of $$$.

LOTS of $$$ If you look at the Bulls during these dry years (not that I, as a Rox fan, have much room to talk) the Jerrys have basically tried to put together a young team that can develop for a few years, while saving them caproom and, therefore, $$$.

Da Bulls have Crawford and Rose as the playmakers. Maybe also Travis Best, although I doubt they'll re-sign him. Jay Williams would make a great bargaining tool, though.

Do they want Odom and Maggette? I don't know. I think Rose does his best work at the 3, and so does Odom.

I wouldn't be surprised if that LAC-Chi-Hou 3-way came through, the way various interested parties are acting. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised at anything now.

Why does a team with 2 19 yr old 7 footers want Yao Ming so badly?

Are Chandler and Curry that bad? Is Ming that good? To me, it would seem to make mch more basketball sense for the Bulls to take Williams (assuming he isnt taken 1st). It's gotta be a reverse smoke screen.

It's been reported that Krause is intrigued by the idea of a Curry/Yao/Chandler front line to pair up with a Crawford/Rose backcourt. Those same reports say that the rest of the Bull's staff wants Williams.

That would have to be the tallest starting 5 in history, but I'm not sure how effective they would be.

You're right aelliot. Krause would not mind slipping Ming or Chandler into the small forward position.

I think the reason that China likes the Bulls and Krause so much is because it's a sumo culture down there. Krause in all of his fatness is probably seen as some kind of God.

I believe sumo wrestling is in Japan, but that still gave me a laugh.

I don't really see what the big deal is. All NBA clubs are courting guys right now. They did it to Ming then because he wasn't beholding to NCAA rules.

Well, I'll tell ya, I've thought that the Jerrys want Ming, but I have the tough time figuring, where do all the pieces go? If a trade goes down on draft night, LAC gets the excess baggage because Chicago is not yet under the cap (not until July 15 when Oakley and Best can be waived.)

What I wonder is, do we get Odom and Maggette and picks?

I'd love to get Nené with our pick(s), if he won't have problems with his contract in Brazil. 6'10", 260, 7'5" wingspan. NY might want him at #7, though.

im affended just a little bit. I think my chinese culture has way to much honor to watch two tub of lars going at it in those underwearer thingy's :)

but to be serious, the Chinese really like the bulls because, as stated before, they only get to see games late in the playoffs. You ask any chinese basketball fan to name 2 good NBA basketball teams, they would most likely say the lakers and the bulls.

Seems like I'm the only person taking the cynical approach to Krauss wanting Ming so badly.

Does it really make that much basketball sense to add him to Curry and Chandler, if Chicago really believes those guys will work out fine? Probably not. But Krause hates it when the attention isn't focused on him. And right now, Ming is where the press is at. Drafting Jay W is safe, and boring. Drafting Ming gets the media at his heels, the fans in seats, and himself on the front page of SI after signing day.

    *yawn*

Isn't it abundantly clear yet that players make champions, not GMs? Chasing Michael Jordan out of town was the dumbest move in the history of professional sports...

Krause isn't necessarily against doing the safe and boring thing. He drafted Brand, and that's about as safe and boring as you can get.

The Bulls don't need Ming to get fans in the seats. They already have fans in the seats. However, the Rockets are another story, and Ming could help there, given Houston's 250,000+ Asian population.

As far as Jordan being chased off, Reinsdorf offered 6+ million to Phil Jackson, he retired, Reinsdorf offered 30+ million to Jordan, and Jordan retired, saying he didn't want to be there without Jackson.

After that, we did Pippen (but not really Houston) a favor by signing and trading him for his max salary that is still weighing on the Trailblazers like Crazy Cabbie.
