Why would Chicago make that trade? They just came off an encouraging playoff performance without one of their top players (Deng) and should compete for a top 4 seed in next year's playoffs. Why would they trade for a guy who's not even going to play until towards the end of the year (if at all)? The Bulls are not hemorraging money like some other teams. That trade makes NO sense for Chicago. Please try to keep these trades realistic. Hence the "serious" aspect of the thread title.

No one wants T-Mac. It makes no sense for any GM to pick him up. He's not worth his expansive contract. Why would I want a broken T-mac when I can just wait a year and pursuit legit players like Dirk,Lebron, Steve Nash, Amare, Kobe..all whom will be able make instant impact.

Deng and Hinrich might be viable targets, but you're right that there is no way that Noah would be part of this trade. He has tremendous value. I would love for the Rockets to get him.

This is the type of deal that might be out there in these tough economic times.....

The Rockets should be able to take advantage of someone.

Heck, we got Artest for Donte Green and Bobby Jackson......

    In Morey we trust.

Adding Granger would be sick, especially being a U of New Mexico alum. He's no Kenny Thomas, but he's pretty good.

Yeah adding Granger would be sick but I don't even think the Pacers are that stupid to trade away their future. No way.

You really, really don't like Ron huh? :D First year here he gets us over the hump. I would only trade Ron right now if I were playing NBA 2k9 cause he sucks on the game. :p

Isn't New Orleans struggling too? Hey, that's mean we can probably get Chris Paul too! I can finally get him to smell my arm-pits when we trade Tmac for him. Yaaaa too the crappy economy and Right Guard deoderant! :D

Calm down, most of those guys will stay, BUT Amare and nash both have talked openly about leaving. Now Nash may want to go to NY more than anywhere else, but Amare left the door wide open when asked where he'd be, said he'd welcome coming back, but he may not be back with Phoenix.

i dont post often, but I pondered today, would a tmac for shaq trade be possible at all? Money wise it works, and Shaq has to play less minutes, so why not play those minutes behind yao. i am not sure the Suns would do it, but the idea of teams having to guard yao, and then a fresh shaq checks in to punish the second unit. just a thought

LOL - I say, I would trade ANYONE, and you take it I mean Tmac....

I would do whatever it takes to make the team better.....

    No matter what.

And I am not obsessed with Tmac, I just think he and his attitude are not needed in Houston anymore.

I do think the team could use that $23 million he is getting paid next year to upgrade the roster even more though.

Man I never even thought about that, or if Shaq would even be willing to do it. He still thinks he is in his prime.

But when you look at it, having Yao/Shaq and Scola/Landry gives us the SUPERIOR advantage in those positions by far over any team in the league.

With this team returning in tack otherwise, we would be sick! Although I still think we would need to develope or get another wing player...maybe White. Artest and Battier are getting older.

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Not sure why Phoenix does it, unless they think an expiring McGrady is somehow more attractive than an expiring Shaq.

FWIW's, Diesel has a home down here...
