If big baby lost a little more weight I would pick him over Landry.

I think they're too similar in talent level, as of now, for this question to matter.

...but, in the long run, if i was a GM, i would rather have Landry than take a chance on Big Baby. He could turn into the blob once he gets his next contract.

Maybe I'm missing something, but since when does Davis have any post-up game? Seems like whenever I watch them he does a good job cutting and finishing around the basket, but I can't recall one time they've ever thrown it to him on the block. Not that Landry has a post-up game either.

Also, you're not going to convince me that Davis has a better jumper than Landry based on a few weeks of play. Landry has always had that shot, and it is still money for him.

They both have pretty similar roles on their teams: cut, finish, rebound. Landry finishes in more impressive fashion, but lacks the bulk to muscle up tough post players defensively. Landry has been better for longer, so I'll take him until Davis proves he can keep putting up those numbers.

they played almost the exact same minutes this season and landry got 9/5 and big baby got 7/4. 0.5 more apg for big baby and i'd say he's a better defensive presence, but it's very hard to give him any sort of advantage once you factor in the huge FG% difference. as BrooksBall's Hotspots chart shows, there's a reason one was at 57% and the other was at 44%. landry wins significantly on both jumpers and inside finishes. davis has had a very nice orlando series but he's still only getting 6 rebounds in 36 minutes.

*4-22 from close in on the right side of the basket for davis? was he shooting with his feet or something?

I was thinking about this question just the other day. I think ultimately the weight thing will hurt Davis. i don't know if Landry will ever start ahead of Scola, but he'll be a very nice asset when we have to retool the team.

The best thing to happen to Glen Davis was the trade that brought Boston Kevin Garnett.

Landry is a self motivator, Baby is not.

Overall talent wise, it is fairly even, IMO. I'd take Landry mainly because his work ethic seems to be better. Work ethic goes a long way for NBA success.

Big Baby reminds me of Robert "Tractor" Taylor. Same size at 6'8 and even similar game. And both needed motivation.

I think long term Big Baby will run into the same weight issues as Taylor, he may have just 2-3 years left in the NBA. Honestly how many guys his size last in the NBA?

Back to the question, I'd pick Landry. He's quicker, better offensive game (remind you that Big Baby shot %44 in the regular season which is very low for a PF), and most of all he doesn't need someone to motivate him. Landry motivates his team with is play, check game 6 where the score was 52-54.

    Landry is a learner.

    Davis is too emotional.

Landry will accept criticism and play well. He knows his role and is terrific at it.

Davis on the other hand, strikes me as a guy who will break down or cry whenever he is criticized (the Kevin Garnett incident). He does not appear to be a very easily motivated guy, and adding his personality it could be a problem in the long run.

Exactly! I feel the same way. Does Big Baby have any back-to-the-basket game at all? All I ever see him do is get "garbage points" underneath the basket and shoot those mid-range jumpers.

Hell, this is probably a style Doc Rivers can live with since all KG does when healthy is fire up mid-range jumpers too. He probably didn't even have to modify his playbook at all. Well, at least offensively.

What? Of course I'd take Mandry. He's one half of the Scolandry duo. Scodavis... NO WAY JOSE!
