I am very happy to hear that Yao is going to get to experience his first-ever "off-season!" :)

Seems like the man has gone non-stop, year-round since before he was drafted to Houston. I hope that the time off is beneficial towards a longer, more productive career.

    It's about time...

Now I don't want to blame anyone, but I do believe Yao wouldn't have half of the injuries he's had if China let him have more control. But obviously, that is out of the question in most cases.

    I'm not saying thank you.

This should have been agreed upon after his first major injury.

Yao should fake an injury at the end of the season every year :D

what i want to say to " silentsky" is , i am a chinese, i come to this bbs yesterday due to rox's amazing performance in this series, Yao is really a patriot, when our country needs him, i think he will do everything he can, that is just Yao is, rather than China forces him. Yao is a good guy from his words to his deeds; actually,if Yao is healthy and the chinese team still ask him to play, i would blame the chinese team too, cause the chinese team is strong enough to win the asian cup without Yao; the last thing i want to say is China is not a "evil communists", we people here live happily and proud of our country and being a chinese, so do Yao. Things are not just as you thought or you read from your media and tv, i think you just don't know China, and i hope you can come to China someday to have a close look on china instead of just getting your impression of China from some unjust reports or views, i believe if you know more about china yourself, you will change your mind and stop calling china an "evil communists". Thanks! Let's wish rox have awesome performance in the next game.

    Excellent post ! :D

People should go to China and find out the country with their own eyes.

Would you buy and sell stocks based on the informations from the media ?

of course i blame the over use of Yao, but think about it, no matter what kind of game, match or contest, if you can stand for your country and win a honor for your country, do you still think it is pointless? well ,i don't think you will think so

Great news for Yao. He gets to use the summer to recuperate and work out so he can be more durable during the year. Playing during the summer only increases the chance of a breakdown later on.

And not all the Chinese people love Yao.. Even there are many haters of his. They are probably to say "See? This is what kind of person Yao Ming is, no responsibility, no patiotisom." They are always blaming Yao for unreasonable reasons. That's pretty ridiculous..

LOL. You're an idiot. Please don't associate yourself with this country. Stop making the rest of us look as ignorant.

You should get out of bed and go to China and see how people live.

Democracy is over-rated in a lot of place in the world. :D
