Was the technical for what he did to Artest or for something he said? From the broadcast it made it seem it was for his contact with Ron, in which case I would agree it wasn't warranted.

I would have to agree with this. Yes Kobe bumped heads with Artest but it was unintentional. The only reason he got a tech because Artest started running around. I was confused when it happened and was looking closely at the replay (showed over 5 times). Wasn't really sure how that was a technical foul. Happy the league made the right decision. But, Go ROCKETS!!

I don't think it was a technical either. Should have just been a personal and a play-on.

I would imagine Lakers nation would be up in arms if we won by 1 point last night.

It makes no difference to us, as we'll only play them one more time this season.

Artest ran around because when Kobe slammed against his chin it forced Artest to bite down on his tongue. And Artest ran because the initial jolt of pain made Artest want to punch Kobe in the face.

I got sick of JVG saying it was nothing. Artest had a big gash in his tongue. It wasn't a fake. Yeah maybe he didn't deserve a technical but Kobe initiated the contact. Just like Kobe initiated the contact on Shane. If he didn't deserve a technical for that certainly Artest didn't deserve a foul. Why didn't JVG mention that!

would you've prefered he slug Kobe.. and be suspended indefinitely..?

in his past.. i have no doubt Artest would've erupted without a second thought.. his temper evidently still lingering from the elbow to his throat.. this time.. however childish the display.. it was the best way he could find to release steam.. in a non-self-destructive way..

Well... it was expected. Kobe didn't do anything wrong, though it did cost them a point (not like it would have mattered.. blew those suckers out).

I couldn't agree more. I'm so tired of listening to these lame announcers wondering aloud when is Artest going to do something to cost Houston a game. I actually expect Koby to lose it in game seven in about the third quarter....

Think about it. He has this lovefest going on with Stern and the NBA hoping and praying for a ratings bonanza with Koby and LeBron in the finals. His movie done by Spike Lee is premiering right in line with the beginning of the Western Conference Championship. All we've heard about from the beginning of the year was the Lakers as a shoe in for the finals. Now to be taken to the brink by the Rockets? Being held in check by ("He can't hold me") Battier and Artest? I'm willing to bet he ain't sleeping at nights. If the Rockets have the lead at halftime and the Lakers hit a wall in the third, he's going to lose his mind. He thinks he's the chosen one. I bet he hates seeing LeBron receive adulation. He's nothing more than a punk who wants all the spotlight. That's why he hated Shaq and made the Lakers chose between them. Hell they might still be the defending champs if Shaq was there.....

    ;)

it's Stern's warn ton refs: " don't be to strict to Kobe.i dont care about justise or basketball. all i care is MONEY!!!"

refs in Game 7 will prove this.

this is nba, where MONEY-ORIENTED happens.

Kobe's left forearm/elbow area hits Ron Artest at around the 0:09 mark. Subtle, but enough to cause Artest to bite down.

P.S. You might want to mute because the music is annoying and pointless.

i'm tired of hearing that kobe didn't do anything. whether it was unintentional or not he did make contact to artest's mouth with his forearm causing him to bite down on his tongue. kobe should have received a personal foul on that rather than a technical, and artest shouldn't have been called for anything.

8 to 9 second mark for proof.
