it wasn't even close....going from 6.6 million to 7.35 is a BIG GAP

Hmmm was that because everybody thought LA would close it out or bc they wanted to see us put them in their place?

I think people wanted to see the Lakers get their ass handed to them. All the national media does is talk up Boston or LA. I'm sure people are more intrigued in seeing Kobe and his Lakers get knocked off by a far less individually talented team playing great team basketball.

I think it's safe to say, thanks to Obama. People want to see what kind of team Houston Rocket really is to draw praise from Mr. President.

Any channel but ESPN, they pay the Rox no respect. Their analysts picked Portland and LA over us, they don't respect Yao, if they have a choice of replaying our games they don't, going with a Miami game or Boston game over ours. Maybe now that we're a hot ticket they'll pay some attention.

Are the Rockets becoming America's new darling?
I always thought that everyone without a team in the playoffs should be rooting for us, even before losing Yao and defying worse odds. We are one of the good guy teams in the league, and who roots for Goliath against David?

you know i actually think this may bode well for the Rockets come Sunday

    why?

think about it I would wager to say a majority of those 7.35 million people who watch the game didnt watch it to see the Rockets win but to see the Lakers lose. They are the casual NBA fan or fans of other teams.

Now take that audience and have it on a true national channel like ABC on Sunday (which everyone gets not just cable/sat subscribers) and you are looking at another huge ratings event for the NBA.

but also with all those people watching they cannot have another "WCF Game 6" fiasco on their hands. A lot of people will scream bloody murder. If the lakers beat the Rockets fair and square thats one thing but if they get gifted the game then there will be too many people watching the game to not cry 'wolf' Stern knows this and probably will make sure the officials are legit for the most part

    or so I hope

Wow, crazy ratings! Could the Rockets benefit from this? Stern could help them advance and get crazier ratings!!
