I love this guy. His intangible factor is that he adds a whole new zaniness to our team. The Rockets have heart and personality.
Well I'm shopping for a new car, which one's me? A cool convertible or an SUV? Too bad I didn't know my credit was whack, so I driving off the lot in a used sub-compact. F-R-E-E, that spells "free", credit report dot com baby.
That is nothing short of awesome. The character and personality in this team is something I can't say I've ever seen before.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6425157.html Rockets guard Ron Artest missed Thursday’s morning shootaround with an upset stomach, but before the game said he felt “great” after getting some intravenous treatment at home. “They gave me some medicine to make everything go away,” Artest said. “I was not worried, not at all. I just wanted to make sure I was feeling good. The doctors, they care about me. Gave me a little lollipop, a little candy, some gum and some coloring books. “Every day is good, especially after I got those coloring books. I had a lot of fun playing the maze today.”
I'm knocking on wood as I say this, but he might actually be winning the mental game with Kobe. I didn't think that was possible. (And move over, Shaq -- new sig.)
Oh wait... either it's "I was right" when Rockets lose Game 6, or "I was just helping their motivation" when they win: http://blogs.chron.com/jeromesolomon/2009/05/the_king_took_one_for_the_team.html Hate this guy.
If that is really what he did then he's lost all journalistic integrity. Under no circumstances do you allow yourself to not only become a fan of the team you cover but you also never ever ever ever allow that fanhood to affect your writing. If he really did write the first one just to motivate the Rockets then how does that serve the readers, you know the ones who make his job possible? It doesn't! All that article did for the readers is piss them off and in the end make them look stupid because Soloman essentially tricked them into fueling his mission to motivate the Rockets. With all that said I don't actually believe he wrote it to help the Rockets.
