A defensive commodity that we do not want to get in foul trouble. A great passer with high BB IQ. He holds the opposing team's post threat in check and rebounds at an amazing rate. Plus, he is cheaper to keep on the roster than Yao. Go Chuck!
LOL @ this thread. Chuck Hayes played well so now he's Yao? FYI Chuck can't shoot jumpshots and do hook shots as good as Yao. I love Chuck, but what you said i do not agree.
Von wafer played well after T-Mac's injury ,so do you think he can replace T ? what a luck you aren't a organizer of the team ...
Hayes is a better passer than Yao when the ball is moving fast. Hope he doesn't get screwed by refs next game.
Oh man. Battier outscores Kobe in game 4, and Chuck outscores Bynum in game 6. I want to see Spike Lee do this documentary: "Shane Battier and Chuck Hayes Doin' Work." All about their defensive preparation and execution on the floor. I think it would be highly educational for NBA fans.
Chuck can be compared to the post-dominant Mutombo, but even THAT is a reach. No doubt he is good. But Yao? If Chuck was 7'6", he'd just be a better Shawn Bradley.
come on, guys. Let's just enjoy this series. Really no need to bash Yao now, specially after yao did give his 100% this postseason. Injuries are things out of his control.
I hope that even when he gets 2 fouls early that Rick Adelman continue to play him. It's critical to have him guard Gasol.
I did not meant that Chuck is better than Yao by this post but I simply implied that Chuck is the guy we do not wish to get in foul trouble for this series considering his ability to guard the rim and more specifically Gasol. He did a great job tonight and I think his defense is key.
He's strong, but if he were taller he would lose some of his leverage. I think Chuck's lack of height might actually help his game somewhat. His low center of gravity, compared to the 7 footers he plays against, allows him to really stand his ground.
