if the rockets are smart and the lakers willing to sacrifice, i would trade mobley and francis for kobe and draft jay williams or trade #1 pick for andre miller or mike bibby.

While I don't think the Lakers would do it, I believe that Steve, Cat, and Shaq coached by Phil Jackson would have a good chance at winning the title.

Unfortunately, Kobe plus Jay or Kidd or Payton would not be able to win with our current frontcourt.

KOBE..............is the best player in the league. He is in Shaq's shadow. Can you imagine in a couple years when the Lakers and "SHAQ" give KOBE the true green light???

He is totally in Shaq's shadow, Shaq is great but he is as jealous as they come, remember Penny in Orlando???

I am a Laker fan, true to the bone. I have all the respect in the World for Shaq's dominate abilities, but.............it's his time as he says, and KOBE has taken the backseat, otherwise forget a 3-PEAT...........

Two months into last seaon that's 2000-2001 season.............Kobe was scoring 31 a game, the Lakers were winning there 7th in a row in Phoenix, KOBE got 38, without playing a minute in the fourth, the Lakers won by 32 or so. great times HUH///////// Nope not for "JEALOUS" Shaq............he went to Mitch Kupchak (Laker GM) and then to Phil Jackson demanding a trade..................Too much KOBE in Shaq's mind, it was his time. Since that time KOBE has sacrificed his game for Shaq with Phl Jackson's help. Jackson has kept Kobe down just to keep Shaq happy. Since that time Kobe has played 4.5 minutes less per game..........that equals 3.5 less on the old scoring average.

In a year or two I believe Shaq will finally allow KOBE to be KOBE, and play his game free and clear, no more restrictions, and then watch out for the real KOBE.

I believe if the Lakers got Francis and Mobley they would be as good, but I think Houston with KOBE being free and having Houston as "HIS" team along with Jay Williams Houston would end up with a better chance than with Ming, Mobley, and Francis.

Anyways, it's the Clippers that everyone should be worrying about................They get the Yugoslav shooting guard/playmaker at 6-8 Jaric, whom they say was a top 3 player in all of Europe last season, plus the 8th pick, probably the 19 year old 7-0 Russian playing in Italy (Sorry cannot recall his exact name) , and the 12 th pick, which will be Stoudamire the man child, to go with Richardson, Maggette, Macinnis,Dooling, Miles, Odom, Brand, Olowakandi,.................now that's deep, and a real threat for a team, if not this next season then the next without doubt.

It sure will be interesting to see what all happens........

    :)
