Dwight's post game may be ugly but he is consistently a 50%+ scorer. Obviously, they can't run their offense completely through him but his teammates must give him the ball when he is right under the rim, even if he misses. Their offense starts to break down when the opposing team realizes they don't have to pay much attention to him.

He's always been a good rebounder and I think people gloss over how much of an impact that has. People always talk about how he's overrated because he can't shoot. Well...yeah, his jumpshot is suspect...but he's a great finisher around the rim and is possibly the best defender from the PG position.

So is Tyson Chandler. If Howard starts shooting more non-dunks, his FG% will go down drastically. He has horrible touch around the basket, limited post moves and no jump shot to speak of.

I don't think anybody is unaware of Rondo's abilities at this point and I don't think the majority of people feel he's overrated. His poor shooting is a real weakness but his ability to get to the basket and finish more than makes up for it. If he could at least improve his FT shooting...

This officiating is pretty bad. Howard got murdered on a fast break dunk, which should've been a foul on Perkins. Luckily, he got the offensive board and got fouled again.

On the other side, Celtics offensive flopping gets them suspect calls.

    Howard's hook shots are prayers.

On one possession, he missed a hook shot badly then on the next possession, he did what he should be doing to score the majority of the time - collecting offensive boards and putting the ball back in.

Unfortunately, he seems to think he's more dangerous with his back to the basket than he really is. He may very well develop a post game at some point in his career but, as of now, he hurts the team trying to force up those kinds of shots.

All of Dwight's strengths are Yao's weaknesses and all of Yao's strengths are Howard's weaknesses.

If Tyson Chandler could manage to score 20 points a night then I would say his teammates need to get him the ball right under the rim as well.

Look, I'm in no way trying to make a case that Dwight is a highly skilled offensive player, it's clear that he isn't. I just think it hurts their offense if they don't at least go to him when he has his man pinned nearly out of bounds.

    Would you agree this though

Yao Ming is better than Dwight Howard?

    and

Dwight Howard has more things in common with Tyson Chandler than Shaq?

With Boston giving the refs BJs, Alston decided the Magic can give some love as well.

Just wanting your opinion on that, because I also feel that way. Howard seriously has to work on his offensive game, I've been telling people that and delusional Magic fans end up saying Shut up, Dwight is going to be better than Shaq.

Dwight just displayed how you beat a fronting defense.

I was just saying that Howard is not much of a threat when his back is to the basket more than a few feet out. He is more dangerous than Chandler at both ends because he is bigger, stronger and more athletic. As far as skill sets, they are very similar though. Howard just does the same things better.

I totally agree that they need to get the ball to him when he is right under the basket with his man sealed off. That's true for pretty much any big in the league.

Until Howard develops more of an offensive arsenal, I just think he should be content with how he is used in Orlando's offense. He's still highly effective. If he wants to shoot more running hooks, he will not be helping their cause.

His offense should consist of putbacks, alley-oops and inside feeds when he is right under the basket. He is also decent when he is facing the basket and can drive around his man and finish or force a foul.

and he also displayed how to clank throughout this series against Perkins.

Can you imagine if we could combined Yao and Howard into one player? It would be Hakeem Olajuwon 2.0.

I totally agree and think that pretty much sums up two things...

The strengths and weaknesses of both Yao and Howard as well as how complete of a player Hakeem was.
