Anyone else have this problem? Safari loads ESPN.com in about 3 seconds, while Firefox gets all choppy and slow and takes about 6 or 7 to load everything. Scrolling down pages is a lot less smooth than Safari too.

I don't have Safari, but I just tested ESPN.com with Firefox, IE, and Opera, and all seemed equally fast.

I have incredibly bad speed problems with Firefox too. I've experienced this on my home desktop and 2 different laptops. It's definitely a memory beast and always seems to have memory leak issues.

I thought the same thing when I switched to Firefox 3. When I was running the previous RC's I had no problem with it, very quick. Upgrading to the offiical release and it slowed down to taking ~10 seconds to load half the sites I visit. No addons installed either.

I switched back to Opera and am quite satisfied.

On this older pre-2000 low power computer I'm using I have Firefox with no add-ons and its VERY apparent, like night and day difference between Firefox and Opera like I'm using a cheap dail-up internet service instead of cable internet. If it doesnt even freeze this crappy computer entirely... I'll still use Firefox cuz the add-ons are what sets it apart. And its tolerable on my normal up to date comp

Had a thread on this earlier about Firefox being hella slow... it's making me want to uninstall it.. I'm sticking with it for now, but Chrome is really backing me up.

Yeah I stopped using FireFox and switched to Chrome

Firefox, even with only 1 addon, takes forever to start up, load and seem to take up more memory as well

Does Chrome automatically import your Firefox bookmarks?
