Injuries are part of the game and there's nothing to do about it, but we have to appreciate how the surviving Rocket boys are hanging tough.

To a great extent, this is stating the obvious, but I don't see these others clubs persevering as well as these Rockets are without their analogous, key players.

We are without McGrady (arguably #1 wing player), Yao (starting center) and Deke (backup center).

What would San Antonio be with Ginobilli, Duncan, and Oberto? (Heck they got ousted just without Ginobilli)

LA without Kobe, Bynum and Josh Powell?

Cleveland without LeBron, Ilgauskas and Ben Wallace?

Boston without Paul Pierce, Kendrick Perkins and Mikki Moore?

Denver without Carmelo Anthony, Nene and The Birdman?

Dallas without Dirk Nowitzki, Erick Dampier and Ryan Hollins?

Atlanta without Joe Johnson, Al Horford and Zaza Pachula?

Series isn't over. Wouldn't it be awesome to size up the Lakers again and force a game 7?! Go Rox...

In Morey and Adelman we trust.

I think a lot of people are now in the "Hope for a miracle" or "against all odds" mode.

    I know I am.

yep !As long as they give us a motivated game ,that will be good in this situation .A team can suffer physical injury ,but can't suffer mental injury !

Leave it all on the court, nothing to lose.

As far as the rest of the world knows, this series was over when Yao went down.

    Let's shock the world!

Love the perspective giddyup, much like "can CLE beat SAC 22 games in a row?".

    Thanks.

we show fight EVERY YEAR. that's why we have remained so competitive throughout these years despite multiple injuries to key players.

We havent shown real fight in awhile, before this season. This season (the last few months specifically) has been different than the past few.

Yao has never had a stable team. Every year they started slow, and a lot times Yao carried the team to stay above 50% in the first half.

That's the reason I really hope we do not make any big changes this offseason.

    keep the whole team intact,
    have a great start,
trade TMac for a decent wing player just before the deadline,
make sure Yao will be fresh in the post season,
have an easy first round with HCA
    fight/win 3 more rounds

Yeah, winning in the regular season is the same as winning in the playoff.

Yes, I think I agree. After reading a lot of overheated puffery about wining without star players, you know what I'm craving? A little perspective. That's it. I'd like some fresh, clear, well seasoned perspective.

While you are right that we are doing well despite injuries, I want more than that personally. I want a championship for Houston. This whole going through the regular season hoping that our two best players don't get injured from freak accidents or injuries from simply playing basketball for the entire year got old two years ago.

So, my whole point is, yes we are doing well despite our injuries and that is very commendable, but we need our best players to win championships. Yao and McGrady both have had injuries for the better part of the last three years when we desperately needed them.

If you want to keep hoping that Yao stays healthy throughout a season every year for the rest of his contract, that's fine and I can't blame you. It just makes me nervous and I'm really tired of having that in the back of my mind every year. No matter how well it's going through the regular season, there's this black cloud that is the end of the season where we've had these terrible injuries to our best players.

    That's my whole view.

This series has value beyond this season. These young guys (and the old guys too) are going through a trial by fire. The things they are learning in this series and the experience they are gaining should be useful next year and beyond when this team is stomping through the West on it's way to the Finals.

Rox are under-man-ned and should have lost against these powerful lakers by now . Yet they are still in this thing and it's their heart that still makes us fans believe. That is something special. Win or lose, what an inspiration this team has been. Go Rox, continue to make us proud!

Is there any rule that would allow a team to call up a D-Leaguer now?

I mean, if we reach four season ending injuries for example, can you replace those?
