rasheed wallace would be a good pickup if we could get him for a 2 year ~8mil total. the most important thing for him is to be under a coach who has credibility; RA has that... larry brown had that when they went to 2 straight finals. sheed would provide much needed weak side help and would space the floor for yao and post up when yao is out.

low risk high reward if morey can get a reasonable deal

It is unrealistic, especially considering we don't have a draft pick this year. :p

As for Theo, we can have an undersized center to go with our undersized power forwards.

Oh geeze.... Depends how cheap we can get him for. If he is cheap why not. People thought mt mutumbo was done but he sure proved the world wrong when he set foot here. I really don't think we're going to have alot to spend this coming offseason. Ron Artest is looking to get paid and I really do hope he doesn't make a "sprewell" comment about how hard it is to feed his kids with the offer we give him.

In fact, Zaza would be a nice backup center for Yao. No kidding.

I like the idea of having Sheed in Houston. I'm sure he'd be all motivated again as he would play for a real contender again. And ofc he could hangout with Ron if he stays. Im sure they would get along pretty well with each other. Plus we could start Rasheed at the C spot a lot to get Yao some much needed rest.

But if we sign Sheed for full MLE are we still able to re-sign VonHawk?

Anyone with a brain can see ther eis no way we can expect to draft a 7 footer in this years draft who can contribute as a back-up in a Championship team. We need to find someone, whether it be Theo or not with enough experiance to back-up Yao.

We have the talent to win with Brooks and Lowry at the point, so it is my opinion we use the draft for another point guard. If we fail to win next season T-Mac will be gone and Artest will be close to the end. The next opition is to develop a point guard who can not allowed score but pass.

Would be a great choice if we cant score better back up centers. I mean, he's on minimum contract, whats the harm.

Wish we could swing a deal to get "Brad Miller" from Chicago!

How can you say he is too old, but yet our previous back-up center was Dikembe?

Why would you want another old player to help an injured prone yao? We tried that with Deke, and look how that turned out in the playoffs...

Lets get someone that can actually finish a season.

How about a decent 7 footer on the south side of thirty. Costly, yes, but absolutely necessary given you know who's annual season ending injuries.

Camby would be ideal, if his contract wasn't so ludicrous.

Sure we do. Our cap drops about 11 million for next year of course that is before we resign Ron. I bet he gets about what he is making now 7 or 8 million. These guys are just going to be back-up centers. You don't think Jermaine O'Neal would take 3 or 4 mill for 3 years. This is with not accounting for a possibley reduced salary cap because of the economy.

If I had a gun to my head, yes. He's a little too old for my taste (and spare me any Deke comparisons). I would prefer we find an underlooked free agent or buy a late first rounder or second rounder that wont cost much and that has more than a 1-2 year shelf life on this team.
