We can think of all the tactics we want. There is really just so much you can do with what the Rockets have. It almost feel like we are sending a pitbull to fight a tiger. We know the tiger will win but we also know that pitbull will fight to the death. Here is hoping for a lucky bite from our pitbull.

Lakers don't get into foul trouble with their bigs.

They got three 7 footers and two 6'10 guys.

Pau Gasol probably fouls the least of any Big Man in the NBA...mostly cuz he plays like a pansy but still he doesn't get into foul trouble. Bynum is easier to get into foul trouble but then they'd just bring in Odom and I'm not sure I want to see Odom.

    Gasol is soft
I think if Landry continuously tries to slam on his brain
I think Gasol attempting to block it . .will either
wear him out or get him in foul trouble

i wish Scola was more aggressive and forceful

Box out. That's something you learn in junior high. If the Rockets can box out this will keep Bynum off the offensive boards and at least give the team somewhat of a chance to be competitive.

I really don't like the way we tried to defend Gasol with Hayes in either game.

Gasol likes to post up Hayes, he doesn't like to face up Hayes because Hayes has good feet and hands and he can't out quick Hayes.

But if he is able to either post Hayes low or get moving towards the basket Gasol has a good chance to draw a foul or score over Hayes.

Hayes has done well holding position but when Gasol puts the ball on the floor or spins towards the basket Hayes has been called for the foul and Gasol has also scored at will those times.

I think there needs to be a double team on Gasol right after he starts his move that forces him to either hurry his shot or pass the ball under pressure.

Battier must stay home with Kobe for that to work so someone else has to double and there has to be good defensive rotation also.

The double shouldn't come right when Gasol catches in the post but as soon as he begins to either back down or put the ball on the floor.

The other thing that is important is to box out and get defensive rebounds.

Bynum is best fronted and Scola needs to keep a body on him at all times, Scola tends to play off of Bynum but he needs to be more physical if he can stay out of foul trouble.

Have the refs call 3 seconds violation. The refs have ignored that rule in game 5 against Bynum and Gasol. There was a sequence where Gasol was in the lane for 10 seconds with no call. (I have it DVR'ed)

I would say let Hayes play on Gasol and Front Bynum, the bad thing is once Gasol gets past Bynum even if he misses Bynum will have position on Scola most likely.

Start off with Hayes on Gasol and if he gets into foul trouble or its not working have Ron Artest defend him and get physical.
