What does everyone think about the idea that the Rockets are playing loose, just trying to have fun and have nothing to lose? This is what i gather from listening to post game interviews from the players. Brookes was saying they just want to go out there and have fun and no one expects them to win anyways. The broadcasters were saying this rocket team was practicing in jean shorts, playing jokes on one another in the locker room (Aaron Brooks and the red jacket)...when I hear stuff like that..it really worries more than tells me it's a good sign. To me they played freely against a laker team that underestimated them on Sunday and got away with it, they came out the same way Tuesday night and got destroyed by a much more determined laker team. You can tell by the careless passing, passing in traffic, jacking up alot of outside shots even though they were missing. I just would much rather hear about the rockets being serious and focused even though they are short handed rather than a attitude like they have nothing to lose and just want to go out and have fun. I know the situation is bleak...and i'm not saying they dont have heart, but I just don't know what to think when I hear stuff like that.

we didn't play jokes out there !We play relatively "loose" because we lost a tough defense in our paint .But our guys didn't give up ,they play like heros on the court .what AB said in the interview shows that the pressure has moved onto the lakers ,because they are not allowed to be defeated by a "No YAO " team !

No sports team can compete for a title without its 2 best players so of course they are loose. And no its not a bad thing, I liken it to war. You just lost your platoon leader and best friend. Saw them go down in person! You go a little delirious and lose it, maybe get reckless and "loose", and storm through enemy lines guns blazing. You take out a huge amount of the enemy but eventually your adrenaline will be depleted, your wounds will get to you, and you will die.

What did you expect, for them to go out there scared, depressed, sad, or defeated?

Of course, they're loose. They have to be relaxed. They need to PRETEND nothing's happened and they're doing great. Last night's loss was at the mercy of an energized Faker team who played better than us. Accept the fact we made many mistakes, didn't shoot well, played defense badly and turned it over consistently.

F***, I am overusing the "rolleyes" smiley for all these PESSIMISTS with a passion today.

I expect them to not make careless passes and turn the ball over as much as they did, i know we are out manned, but I'm suprised anyone would watch yesterday game and think they gave it a good effort and we came out gunning..please...we may have lost anyways if we gave a good effort but not by 40 points.

ummm...what do you want them to do? If the lakers open their eyes and play their game and exploit mismatches like most of the game last night, they'll win every time. As good as chuck is defensively he can't contain a near 7 footer with length for a whole game. It took LA 40 mins to figure it out in game 5. If they're not firing on all cylinders and houston is shooting well, then Houston will win it because of their effort/hustle, which is what happened in game 5, but realistically it won't happen often.

You can't really have a set game plan offensively against a team like this when you're this shorthanded, mainly because the core of the usual game plan that you've been working on for months is gone. They have to be free and loose to get their jumpers going. They're not going to win game in the paint or post, it's going to have to be perimeter based.

And what does Brooks suit have anything to do with this, that was game 5, not game 6. And i doubt practices are more than walk throughs right now, they probably dont need to be fully dressed to walk through plays and watch film, practice free throws, etc. Not a big deal.

ugh that was brutal. i still think had lamar odom not been injured, he would've started and everyone could've guarded their normal people, but instead bynum started and we were never in the game because of that.

say if we DID play hard defense from the start. all of our "bigs" would be in foul trouble. look at those fouls chuck picked up within the first 4 minutes of the first quarter, now imagine everyone getting in foul trouble. who do we go to on the bench? we simply just run out of what we barely have left on the inside, so we have to play passive.
