I know this is the wrong forum but I figured it would be a nice change of pace from the will Ming be a bust debates. Hope this don’t make you mad Clutch. Hey how about adding a boxing forum? :)

Well I wouldn't bet money of this fight because it could go either way IMO. 2 fighters that don’t hit as hard as Tyson have knocked out Lewis. Oliver "The Atomic Bull" McCall and Hasim "The Rock" Rahman.

Key's to winning the fight for Lewis. Keep Tyson long range with his jab and make him pay for trying to get inside. When Tyson does get inside grab and hold tight.

Tyson hasn't really fought any quality fighters since his 2 losses to Holyfield. The worst performance I have ever seen Tyson give came against James "Buster" Douglas. Douglas and Lewis have a lot of the same qualities that gave Tyson such a hard time in that fight. They are both bod, tall and have very good jabs.

Key's to winning for Tyson. Go to the body early get Lewis to bring those hands down then land one of those powerful overhand rights. Unless Tyson lands a bomb early (first 5 rounds) he will lose this fight.

Prediction time! :D Lewis by KO!

Side note: I really hope Tyson wins this fight. If he does Chris Byrd will, well should get a shot at the title. If Tyson got frustrated by Holfield (enough to take a chunk out of his ear) think what Byrd the best defensive heavyweight in the sport will do to him. They will probably have to cart Tyson off in a straight jacket. :D

Tyson KO's Lewis cause he is a thug- this lowers Lewis' value allowing the Rockets to pick-up Lewis for the league min. Lewis would make a nice PF enforcer- Nah that British accent would get smack-talked right out of the league:D

A better question is whether Lewis' ears will still be attached after the fight :)

Tyson will get frustrated with Lewis and in the 5th round will do something stupid to get disqualified. Tyson needs to be put to sleep just like a rabid dog.

Im my opinion Possum, this a great post, I was just sitting here trying to think of a way to get off the Ming subject.

I got in a simi heat argument just last, a debate that really made me look like an a$$, So I feel like a change of pace is needed.

In reality we are all just hoping, and praying he doesnt bust....but enough about that.

I have got my money on Lewis

Tyson will beat Lewis on Satuday & also in the re-match that is certain to follow........Then Holyfield will get a chance to win the title back for the 5th time sometime next year as he turns 40...Evander will retire as a 5-time champion because he has Tyson's number!

or is it 4-time champ? whatever, the point is that I think Holyfield is not giving up until he wins the championship belt one more time...he looked very good in his match last week with Rahman and he had that look of determination that leads to the logical conclusion I have devised

The honorable part of me wants Lewis to win because he is a class act, and he gives a sullied sport a good name.

The morbid part of me wants Tyson to win, so that the book on Tyson does not come to an end. Be honest, Tyson makes great copy. Do we really want the fun to stop? Imagine the media circus if he actually wins? As the champ, will Las Vegas have to turn hypocrite and give him a license?

If Tyson doesn't win in the first 3 rounds or starts to lose, he's gonna do something stupid...
This fight is pure entertainment for me...

I give it 5 rounds, if Tyson hasnt knocked him on his ARRSSS he will take a kneecap or something off. Though i agree, i would like to see Tyson win so Vegas will have to put there foots in their mouths and give Tyson the right to fight in it's casino's.

Tyson vs. Holyfield 3 will never happen, Tyson wants no part of Evandar. ( unless some big $$$$ is involved).

I think Lewis is a overrated champion, he fought who? Holyfield on his downside? though Holyfield looked as good as i have seen him in a few years. other than that he fought noone. Not that Tyson fought his share, but Tyson looked like he was a true HW champion when he was at the prime of his carrer.

This will prove to be the best or the worst heavyweight championship bout since the Silence of the Lambs we all saw a few years ago.

And why is Tennesee getting all the run nowadays, 1st they take our beloved Oilers, then they take the Grizz now they get Tyson?

    BTW Lakers in 5

Lewis beat the crap out of a fighter I think fights the same style, punch and build as Tyson, David Tua. If Lewis brings his A game he is going to bust up Tyson.

I'm gonna go out on a limb. Lewis will frustrate Tyson, Tyson won't land his hard shots, Tyson will get frustrated, and Tyson will bite Lewis's nose off in the 7th round earning a disqualification.

    Who wants to bet? :p

if tyson can't knock him out in the first 2 or 3 rounds, he's gone or at least frustrated enough to were it won't matter. lewis is the more skilled fighter and should handle him pretty soundly.

I hope Lewis finally puts Tyson down.

I can't think of any reason I would want Tyson to be rewarded for being nuts and getting away with it.

I posted on a thread concerning the Tyson v Lewis fight sometime ago.

First off, Tyson is nothing like David Tua. They are the same height and both have granite jaws, but the simularities stop there. Tua has only one ko punch, his left hook. Lewis avoided this one punch easily and won a very boring fight. Tyson has ko power with both hands and has knocked fighters down with every punch in the book, including the jab. Tyson also has the edge in handspeed and defense.

Tyson bit Evander, not because he's crazy, not because he wanted out of the fight, not because he was frustrated. The bite took place in the third round, which was Tyson's best. Tyson simply realized that the fight would be stopped due to the massive cut he recieved from a Holyfield headbutt and retaliated. Evander's opponents have started to come out and agree with Mike in saying Evander headbutts intentionaly. Even Lewis himself has stated as such. Another example is Evander's fight last week against Rahman, a headbutt occured, the fight was stopped prematurely. One more thing to the posters saying "Mike will do something to get disqualified when he gets frustrated", Evander bit a fighter in the amatuers and I'm sure not one of you say "Evander will do something stupid to get disqualified when he gets frustrated."

Mike Tyson not being able to fight past the third round is a myth. Tyson's last fight went 6 rnds and Mike still had plenty of energy. I think people get this impression because Mike's only KO losses took place in the later rounds and most Tyson's fight do not go into the later rounds. Tyson was knocked out in the later rounds not because of exhaustion, but due to serious beatings at the hands of Buster Douglas and Holyfield throughout the fight. It was an accumulation of punches that had Mike in trouble. Another reason some believe Mike can't go the distance is his very active first rounds. Featherweights can't keep the workrate that Mike puts out in his first rounds, so of course Mike is going to slow down. Mike Tyson has never lost a fight due to stamina issues.

If you have your money on Lennox Lewis, kiss it goodbye.

By the way, Tyson is not afraid of Holyfield, well maybe he's afraid of his metal plated head, but seriously, Holyfield looked good against Rahman, who is a very average HW. Evander Holyfield should not be fighting anymore.
