Next season I see both Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady as Houston Rockets!

However I see a changed role for both of them!
Both should play no more than 30 mins a game!
Tracy McGrady should never again be a dribbler looking firstly for his own shot!
Tracy must become either a spot up shooter or our Playmaking Point Guard and take shots only when he is open and ready to shoot.
Yao Ming should never again take the stress of playing a stand still back to the basket Center position. He can still play defence but not the main focus of our offence[The truth be know Tracy was the only one who could have made this happen and I believe this situation has never been achieved]
Yao must become more fluid scoring mostly off close in passes while moving towards the basket area. He can also resume his 10-12ft shots after additional practice. He still can contribute 20/10 but not expected to produce the occasional 30-40 points.
If either are to have contact extensions then Tracy should expect a 50% reduction in his pay. Yao Ming should be paid no more than Tracy, both about 10 mil a year.Which will be in keeping with their new reduced roles , their injury history, and the pervailing economic situation of sport in general and their age.Joe Yetti:p

Yes if he comes back out of shape and or injured.

    Or we could trade him.

The reason we call someone a great player is not only he can put all-star performance, but also he knows his body condition. In term of this, I think Yao should learn some from Shaq, who avoid major injuries by sitting around 15 games every season. Of course, our team may not have the luxury for Yao to do the same thing. But a player's health should be the priority. Also, it will be good for the team in the playoffs.

Even Yao doesn't play for any minutes, Yao earned the max contract by his market attractive. How many ADs he brought to his teammates and how much money he earn for the rockets owner. Do you aware of it? Your fool...

Very funny, in the biggest Chinese NBA forum, almost 90% Rockets fans vote to trade Yao, just because they heard that there is a ridiculous poll right here in the biggest Rockets forum of the world. As a big fun of Rockets, I support this team since Yao's here, but be honest, some of u guys make me sick, go ahead, trade him,or give him $10 millions a year, say whatever u want, find a way to let him kown that this city do not need him anymore, then he can leave here with his broken heart, and loyalty. For u guys, just try to forget him as soon as u can...
    Good luck Houston.

Yes, Yao should learn from Shaq to not contribute his 100% on the court to avoid injury and those BS from stupid fans. But if so, it is not Yao anymore.

    I am a passer-by to look at a drama on show. :D
To the "Trade YAO" group and the "Not giving MAX contract"group, never try to convince others against you, just stay and see.

Dude, shaq has kobe on the court, he would never worried about the playoff ticket when he was out for 15 games.
If we had a both physical and mental healthy Tmac, I agree with you and hope yao learn to rest for 10~15 games.
    But unfortunately, we don't.

I am a yao fan, but I still hope he can stay in houston, I love the chemistry reaction among the team now, they have just pass rnd 1 in playoffs, they are keeping moving.
If DM took all advantage of Tmac' expiring contract, or used it to get some aewsome players, we were still ring competitors.
Just give them more time, a championship fan should be patient.

It's not all up to you. Yao has refused to sign an extension twice.

Rockets Org. hasn't exactly been fulfilling their part of their bargain either. It goes both ways.

Why there are so many posts about 'trade Yao', I think people all know that T-Mac is worthless to any other 29 teams.
