Honestly, I'm not even remotely upset about this game. We don't have a center so our fowards are having to over extend themselves. To cover those spots our guards are having to play out of position or at least play guys we normally wouldn't. And we don't have a single go to guy. How the heck are we supposed to generate anything? Our only hope was Chuck staying out of foul trouble. But our offense couldn't smell the rim so it didn't matter anyways. Let's just try and finish the season strong.
You can't forget that game, we had a prime Mac and a very good Yao. Tonight we just had a bunch of scrubs. This lost won't feel near as bad as the one vs the Mavs. Any dummy could tell you that...
Game 7 against Dallas hurt way more. Even losing game 7 at home against Utah hurt more for me. We blew this team out 2 days ago -- how quickly people forget. Everyone was expecting the Lakers to come out dominating, we just couldn't keep up. Two of our best three players are not playing. We do not have a center. And our best wing player is playing the worst series of his life. And yet, they are up 3-2. If we take the Lakers to 7 with these injuries, I will be proud.
Not really that upset, we were without our 2 star players, playing against one of the best teams in the country, anything other than a loss would be a bonus. Let's hope we turn it on at home.
In a league where Brian Cardinal and Adonel Foyle got big contracts. Yeah this one game will stop Artest from wanting a nice size contract.
The problem was not T-Mac or Yao in that last game. Our role players did nothing in that game and it showed how many old players we had who couldn't defend Dallas's quick guards. I believe we had Sura, Jon Barry, David Wesley at that time.
exactly, why this thread deserves 1 star. What Rocket fan who claims to be a Tmac fan could EVER forget the Mavs series!
gotta give phil jackson some credit for putting bynum in the starting lineup instead of odom. He made great adjustment after each loss. Let's see what adjustment can coach adelman make with such a limited roster.
We didn't lose because of poor officiating. We didn't lose because of the lack of heighth issue. I knew we were in trouble when RA put Cook in the gme in the 1Q. I recorded the game but immediately erased it when it was over. We lost the game because we were not prepared mentally. Forced and unfoced errors! Poor execution of fundamentals - e.g. not blocking out on missed shots. And - IMPATIENCE! RA has preached over and over again about mental toughness, yet - again - it seemed to go in one ear and out the other. We seemed to think we could eliminate a 30 point deficit with a single possession, We've got <48 hours to get it together, I believe! Gut check to see if anybody wants to pay attention to what Coach says.
Rocket shooting: beyond streaky When I look at the current roster, we simply have no dependable shooter outside of Yao (who often can't get the ball). But looking at the same roster, there are at least 7 capable shooters who can put up anywhere between 20 to 35 points per game on a given night. I thought we were getting open looks, at least outside the lane. I've don't understand how a team can shoot so poorly. Was it a breakdown of confidence? And why does this occur on such a frequent basis?
Our lack of height was exposed today, And when Chuck goes out with 2 fouls, it was the begining of the end for us.
The turn overs killed us once again. We had few chances to make the 3s and make the game close in 1st qt but they did not go down and the lead just kept getting bigger and bigger. The spacing was a bit poor. I hope we control the ball better in the next game and not turn it over. I think that will give us a good chance to may be stay in the game a little longer.
It happens when: 1) You lost the best center in the NBA and the post game that comes with him. 2) Your point guard has less than 2 years of experience under his belt. All your shots will be contested, as they were tonight.
