Hmm.. so now you're singling me out? What a fool... Pathetic attempt.

I didn't call anyone in this thread a YOF, if I did, please point out where I have said this? I called YOU a YOF. Epic failure.

Haha, Yep, that's what happens. When people just disagree with you, they just go ape-**** and start accusing people of being something they are not.

Been a fan of the Rockets since the Clutch City days, and I was called a YOF. Sad.

Everyone trippn, I'd rather have both of them healthy together. If they were both healthy this post season the Laker would be toast. And the networks would have to change the spike lee movie from "kobe doing work" to kobe getting worked.

I find that anyone that defends Yao is automatically a YOF as well. Even though he's one of if not the longest tenured Rocket (I'm too into Game 5 to look this up), has given his body up for the Rockets to win, and has never given anyone an inkling to question his loyalty to the Rockets and winning.

It's really interesting to me the lack of loyalty the Rockets fans have for Yao. I don't understand it. We didn't get past the 1st round since FOREVER. FINALLY we got through this year, and he got an injury, and people start talking about him like he's the biggest bum ever again. I have never, ever, ever seen such disrespect shown to a player that is the caliber of Yao and the cornerstone of a franchise. All the time, we talk about the shortcomings of Yao, instead of focusing on how much he has improved this team since he was drafted. It is really ridiculous to me, but I know it'll continue for as long as Yao is a Rocket. I don't want this, but I can totally see how real YOF feel when they say that Yao should go to another team because he's not respected on this one, because it really is true. The man just led this team to the 2nd round since forever-ever, and 1st game against a lackadaisical, unfocused Laker team and we win and people are already saying that the team is better without him. And not just a few, but a large amount of 'real' Rockets fans.

Probably the saddest thing in all of this is that we always question an athlete's loyalty these days to their team and how committed they are to bring winning to that team and city, and here comes Yao Ming, and us fans are 10x more disloyal towards him than vice versa.

Well I hope the part I just bolded was a joke.

Other than that, That's a member worthy post right there and honestly you summed it up perfectly about Yao. It's sad to see this guy get treated so poorly. Well at least NBA fans give this guy enough credit. Most NBA fans will tell you Yao led us out of the 1st round. T-mac only fans say Scola because they are in denial. It's all good.

There are more NBA fans out there anyways. :D

I meant that bolded part as people who defend Yao, are labeled as YOF fans. Meaning that liking or supporting Yao makes one not a Rocket fan, but a Yao fan. Even though Yao has always been a Rocket, always bled red (not just literally, but you know what I mean), and is committed to this franchise even though both him and McGrady are out and he's still walking around with optimism, while McGrady had so much less enthusiasm for 'his' team. That's why I meant it's so strange that some people who are supposed to be real Rockets fans support him so little and seemingly wait for him to fail or be bad at something or get hurt and are ridiculous quick to jump on the 'ship Yao out' wagon.

Honestly, we have a good group of role players because we have players (Yao AND McGrady) who make them look good because of how effective they are. I've said this before, that Yao makes Scola look better than who he is, Wafer better than who he is, etc. Same goes for McGrady when Yao is out. We all know how much Yao is swarmed and has to fight hard to score and for his teammates he basically gets them wide open shots all the time if the offense is running right. Yet somehow after good games by the role players, we'll get posts saying that Scola is more effective than Yao. Well of course, Yao is being guarded by Scola's man! Btw, I love Scola since he's a Rocket, although I'm sure I'll be branded something I'm not.

We would not have gotten past Portland without Yao

For all those who thought the team is better without Yao after game 4, let's get this straight:

We would not have gotten past Portland without Yao

We are not a better team without Yao

Anybody with an IQ over 80 can tell you this. It's not hard to realize it. Only the Tracy only fans think this because they want to deny the fact that Yao has surpassed Tracy as the best player and the best leader on this team. It's like a war around here, Tracy only vs Yao only. Yao only would win, since Rocket fans would rather defend Yao anyways.

We are not better without Yao, we never were and We would have no chance taking out Portland without Yao either.

I give this thread 5 stars, for reminding others.

Why are pointless threads like these being created?

The fluff in this forum after game 4 was total knee-jerk...as usual.

Of course we couldn't have gotten past Portland without Yao. He draws SO much attention, that we take him for granted.

We needed Yao tonight. And we'll continue to need him as long as he is on this roster.
