I'm not really good at inspirational speeches or anything like that, but I felt I needed to make this thread since game 5 has been such a downer for a lot of people. Ok, now let's be real, we won game 4... by a large margin. Who didn't see this coming in game 5? You have to be honest... the Lakers were going to come back and beat us, I guess I could say I wanted to see more effort, but this will only help us for game 6. Think about how we smacked them in game 4, they wanted to come back and do it to us so bad. I believe we can respond in similar fashion to them in game 6. Don't be discouraged by one game.... if we tie this series on Thursday.. anything can happen in game 7. Game 6 will be a great game, I won't say we will blow them out, but I'll say it'll be really tough for the Lakers to win in our house. I know it's already sold out for game 6... it'll be a great atmosphere. All you need to do is BELIEVE. BELIEVE... BELIEVE!
We should balance playing with house money with expectation of success. We need more decisiveness in game 6 vs game 5.
i believe we're down by 30 points or so now, and it's tough when you don't have the top 2 players on your team injured.
We had to play perfect to beat the Lakers in L.A. tonight. Instead, we played about as bad as we could.
You beat me to it. I was going to make a thread after the game was over called "I still believe". There's going to be a ton of downer threads in the GARM after this game but I'm not going to make excuses for the Rockets. We played bad against a great team but now is the time if you decide are you are Rockets fan or a bandwagoner. I am a Rockets fan no matter what happens this series or on Thursday. This team has accomplished far more than what we could ever hope for with T-mac out, Rafer traded, Deke hurt and now Yao out. Those are important but what's more important is if you stand by your team when things are tough or if you bail. GO ROCKETS!
lol....i was gonna make a thread titled "now that all the bandwagon fans have left" and include a little speech on not giving up but you already beat me to it, we still have another game, we can do it!
If I have to... If I'm forced to... I'll resurrect the "How about all you quitters leave?" thread. BELIEVE, people... We are NOT dead YET! See you in game 7, Lakers homers. It's on!
the lakers just played their best game this playoffs. and that's not surprising after we whup their ass handily in game 4. now it's our turn to respond. one game doesn't make a series. geez. there WILL be a game 7.
Of course the Lakers are a great team. They didn't win 65 games by accident. That said are you still with the Rockets or are you throwing in the towel?
As depleting as a game this was tonight like many of you have stated above..this series is not over. It's not over till the Lakers get that 4th W in the series. The crowd will be loud on Thursday and the Rockets will have to bring their A game like they did on Sunday. Lakers are closer to winning this series than the Rockets at the moment...but that can change once again after Game 6. Let's Go Rockets!
Even with their good performance, the referees are still giving them all the calls all along. That made me laugh hard: is it really a championship calibre team? It's a pity Yao got the injury in Game 3 like that. Had Adelman played him less in some regular games earlier, this Rockets will at least fight to Game 7.
I really want to blelieve, I really do! But deep down inside I know the reality is that the Lakers are just better and we are undermanned without Yao. I am a Rockets fan for life but I gotta be realistic with myself.
