if that was an Orlando Magic player shoving the kid after hitting a big shot, the father wouldn't have said anything.

i think Davis's demeanor had a lot to do with it. If it was gleeful celebration, maybe this blows over.

But when the opposing player is staring at fans, screaming "MOTHER-F***ERS" repeatedly, and blowing sarcastic kisses to them after hitting the shot.. then yeah, it pisses everyone off and makes someone who got lightly shoved by the opposing team more likely to be upset

Well, now he has apologized, so the world is all set to rights and we will have no more war or pestilence or sin anymore.

What a sham. Oh well, now that the father got his "apology" somebody should remind him his 15 minutes are now up and TIME TO MOVE ON!

If that kid could wear a hat the correct size, it wouldn't look so bad. David seriously barely MOVED him out of the way...no push. He had more contact with the ref, than the person he moved out of harm's way. It didn't even look like he knew if it were a kid or not.

That is weakness...apology not needed, but oh well.

edited: didn't know apology already happened, haha

Sitting in the front row of a basketball game is like sitting in the front row at a Sea World show. You know to expect, don't act surprised.

He didn't call Davis an animal. He called his BEHAVIOR was LIKE an animal. To me, it was a lot less insulting than some names some posters here call on some players. Anyways, I am not defending the father's action.

The point is, an apology is commonsense manner in that situation. Some of you act like it was some shocking demand. Davis shouldn't have needed a demand to do it.

If Vujacic hit a winning shot at Toyota Center, went berserk celebrating using tons of expletive at the fans, and shoved YOUR kid out of his way in the process, wouldn't you want to call Sasha out? ;)

this is such a non issue and lame in so many ways.

apology my ass. yeah, i'm sure all he wants is an apology...in the form of free tickets and/or cash settlement.

I wonder if the ref should also get an apology.

    hey, here's an idea...when a 6'8 300 pound guy is running down the sideline...back the F up!

Someone in the Cuban thread was wondering about insincere apologies. This one seems to fit the bill better. It's easy to apologize when you don't have to mean it.

I'd be as insulted either way.

Davis' apology was very nice and classy...and unnecessary, but I'm glad he did it so everyone can move on and that father's 15 seconds of fame are over.

Get in line, pal. He gave me the finger then splashed me. He swam away and laughed. What an a-hole.
