I mean many NBA teams have super stars and some of the fans are only coming for the team's superstars. Is there really a problem with that? Why in Rocket forum, we always have this problem by claiming someone is Yaofans or Tmacfans. So what? I am not basketball professional, I am just a fan. A fan who would like to watch the players I like. I have been watching Rockets games for years and EVERYYEAR, I heard salary cap, salary cap!!!! Alexander does't want to spend a dime extra to built a champaignship team, I should still be a loyal Rocket fan? I am so sick of it watching we are paying milllions of dollars for some injury players and meanwhile talk about expense control. The only thing keeps me being a Rocket fan is the team I like, Hayes, Battier, Yao, Wafer. Mutomobo. So I am XX only fan, and I am not rocket fan, who are there to judge The one who is not a fan is Alexandar for God's sake. And please pals, stop those craps about XX only fans. one of my friends told me a few years ago while david carr was still around the texans. his pretty young lady neighbor didn't even know why the footballers would punt, but she claims herself a huge david carr's fan and she almost went mad literally when the texans let go of carr.

You will never escape certain types of people on this board. Making a thread about it won't change anything either. You have to learn who is really worth your time arguing with on here. There are many people on here who are worth debating with, however there are just as many that you have to learn to ignore. Pick you battles.

Its not so much that people are Yao only fans or T-Mac only fans, or the new craze Scola fans(folks who voted him MVP of round 1.) Same with Yao hater or T-Mac hater, its more in how the accuser sees you then how you actually are. If you find faults in Player A(legit or not) you are either an A-Hater or a B-Only fan. And that speaks to the person accusing you of it, more than what you actually said. When you rag on Player A because (in your view) he causes Player B to have difficulty while the team overall does well you can be seen as a Player B only fan. Don't criticize other Rockets, and don't get all up in arms when your favorite player gets some legit, well thought out criticisms. Thru my four years on this board, I have been a Yao defender, T-Mac defender, Rafer defender, Battier defender, Head defender, Hayes defender, Scola defender, Brooks defender, and even once a Maxwell and Horry defender. So what kind of XX-Only fan does that make me?? I have also made some criticisms/observations that would go against Yao, T-Mac, J-Ho, Head, Rafer, Brooks, Hayes, Scola, and Battier. So what kind of a fan does that make me?? A Rockets fan.
I've been having this problem. The young immature people on here automatically assume your an "only fan" by your name. So sad. That is the reason why this board is so divided. You have the "only fans" and you have the "99ers". WE ALL NEED TO BE 1!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't speak for others, but for me, my problem isn't the only fans, but the perception of that fan. Like, I know ibm is a huge yao fan, and that's cool, but he's also a huge rockets fan. Now we have conversations about some of this rockets and yao involvement stuff, but I feel ibm doesn't think the rockets will fold up if yao retires or leaves. I've never seen him say the rockets couldn't win or will have to rebuild for 5 yrs if yao isn't here. Even though he probably steals people money while day trading , he still knows the history of this franchise. IBM isn't the only fans I have problems with, the others that think this is a clippers type of hole in the ground franchise, that's my deal.
The problem I have with what your saying is that there are YOF or TOF in bbs. I don't have a problem with liking one player and not caring for another. But I do have a problem when one ignores the faults of his favorite player while still bashing someone else. You are stupid if you don't think there are people who are rooting against the Rockets bc Yao or Tmac is injured. They want to know that the Rockets need them and would rather have us lose, it is the truth.

If the definition is like that, I am totally ok with that. It is not right to say that one player could dominate all, and one could be deciding everything, although the league is trying to promote such a player like LBJ. However, the situation on the board is not like that. IT is over done, like there is a thread talking about Yao probably would go if the Rocket can't get a proper team for him. For me, that's very objective, in the first page of that thread, it is full of craps like "kick that yaoonlyfan" out, etc. I mean, where did that come from? the guy just had a opinion. It makes sense for you to like a player just because you hate a certain player, it is all good. That's the benefit as a fan, you could choose what you like or dislike, versus as a player, you better act like a team and play together. btw, I totally agree Basketball is a 5 man games, that's why I am hayes' fan, he is doing a lot of things that could not show on the stats
