Would this team be better if you replaced Yao with Nowitzki?

I don't like Nowitzki's personality, but purely from a style perspective, I think that if we put Nowitzki at C, it would open things up majorly for our team, most notably Artest, Lowry and Brooks.

Plus I think he can put up the same numbers as Yao, but in a very different and slightly less efficient way.

I know that it would also multiply Adelman's value to this team.

I have to exphasize that Yao is the better player at this point. But what I'm considering here is the team's style of play and current overall roster.

Would the drop in defense and post play be worth the increase in offense and tempo?

I think it'd make this team a lot faster offensively but certainly not better defensively.

Having said that I wouldn't want him on our team, as much as I don't like the Nuggets for their approach to the game (not to mention their arrogance which stands toe to toe with Boston/LA), I dislike Dallas way more because of what happened with Finley.

I have to re-emphasize that I'm not talking about personal like or dislike as i hate Nowitzki. Just style of play.

I'm wondering if this team is better off with a low post threat or a midrange gunner at C, exactly in the mold of Nowitzki.

why don't you think we better trade for GASOL?I mean if we really need a differently-styled C,GASOL is a best choice(or his little brother!).Dirk is weak at defense.HE is really a killer at offensive side, but dont forget we already have Scola!WE cannot trade YAO,especially when we are a playoff team NOW!
what we really need is a D-style center,we have to keep the tough defense in paint!

Oh I'm definitely not mocking anyone. Thought came into my head while watching the DEN-DAL game, and then I just created a similar thread.

Yao is not getting traded. What's with all these "trade Yao" threads?

The ONLY way (hypothetically speaking) Yao will get traded is if there is a younger 7' 6" center from China with mad skills and born with bionic feet that will withstand his huge body and brings in the money that Yao does for the organization. Then maybe Les will consider...

The point is, if you were in Les' shoes why in the hell would anyone trade someone that brings him all that money and exposure. At the end of the day, it's all about money. Then again, most of you knew that... :D

YAO is a CASH COW and Les is milking it...

WOW~DO NOT mistake that,i just told the writer that if he wanted us to replace YAO for Dirk,I'd rather prefer GASOL!I am the ROX fan,and i am a Chinese,i dont like GASOL not because he is one of the lakers.YAO has been against him a lot in FIBA games! To be honest,GASOL is really proper for the system of Adelman as a C!YOU can see that in Spain NATIONAL team plays.

BUT notice that,wo don't need trade YAO for any other big man!that's not gonna happen for YAO's being replaced!
