Just some loose thoughts .... but,

I am almost to the point where I cannot bear to watch the "boob tube" to get information anymore.

The amount of misinformation, poor extrapolation of events, and generally shoddy craftsmanship of the majority of announcers and 'color men" is gaining.

It is almost as if the insane inmates have taken over the asylum.

I expect to hear Gilda's lament : "What's all this I hear about sax and violins on T.V.?" almost anytime. I swear half of the guys do not know what the game is all about, and unfortunately the other half rely on the first half for all their information.

When I go to bed at night, I imagine that some sports network guy is probaly being held back with great effort as he exclaims: " ....yeah, but if this cuban kid plays any kinda basketball at all, think of what the coverage would be if we get him to back up Iverson in tonight's game ......"

I am losing it. It is only a couple of days into the playoffs and my beloved Rockets are not playing. I am sorry I thought I would be able to handle this.

    I can't.

Please help. Tell me there is a tommorrow.

Clutch. Cab. Azim. Almu. Johannes. I need help. Tell me it will be alright.

    .................................

There truly is too much sax and violins on television.

    pops,

I think this summer ruddy & CD will be like "2 wild and crazy guys" [IMG]. If we can make it through the playoffs (yawn)we will be rewarded with a good draft and some roster movement. Kinda like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

    1. Thanks one and all for the encouragement. It helps. [IMG]

    2. What doesn't help is that the Kings and Raptors are out (or will be soon), or, that the playoff schedule seems to be favoring older teams (like Utah) or that the boring East(except for the Heat) still have as many playoff games left to play as the West .... but ..... I am so tired of listening to Bob Costas and his ilk flooding/spamming my airwaves with Phil Jackson/Kobe/Shaq/Laker "stuff".

Actually I am a big fan of Shaq (I know I heard it all before, " .... how can you like THAT ....... guy ..... "), and I have grown to enjoy Kobe's game this year as he got his head out of his media agent's ass and plays probably the best two way game in the league.

But man, I just cannot start calling Jackson a "mastermind" for taking an underacheiving team and making them play together. I still say it was the maturation process of both Shaq and Kobe (and Rice to a certain extent) this year that made the differnce.

    3. I know this sounds like sour grapes, (but who cares) but I still think a blind legless monkey with half a brain could have done the same thing in Jackson shoes. Am I missing something here?

Yea, it takes a "mastermind" to say "OK guys, give the ball to Shaq" and "Kobe, attack the basket and if you don't have a good shot, give it to Shaq"

Having the best player(at the time) in the league for most of your career sure as hell doesn't hurt.

Nothing wrong with BOB COSTAS!! DUKE is a very big fan of his, I have his auto graph and also I stole his SPOON at a restarant once when he was signing my dinner napkin, HA HA HA DUKE OF TRUTH!!!!

He was nice to DUKE, we talked for about maybe like around FOUR minutes!!! IT was like this:

ME: "You are Bob Costas from NBC!!! You are great!!!!"

HIM: "Thank you. Would you like an AUTHOGRAPH?!!?"

ME: "Yeah, sign it to LHUTZ DUKE of hey, look, is that Elvis???!!!"

When Bob starded looking for the King, DUKE grabbed his spoon and stuck it in my pocket!!!!

    HA HA HA HA!!!

    I have lots of autographs.

I enjoyed getting them. Enjoy having them, too.

That is not to say that on some occasion, if I run out of toilet paper, I wouldn't hesitate to reach for a couple of dubious examples and put it to better use than they are doing me now.

As a matter of fact Mr. Costas' would be first amoung equals, in my household.

(Keep a tight grip on yours Duke!) [IMG]

Don't worry too much about Costas. I think there is more here than meets the eye:

Obviously, he has been replaced by some alien whose morphing capabilities are dubious at best. Either that or he and his "doctor" have been spending an awful lot of time together.

    WoW.

There was an actual time where Costas did not look like a chipmunk.

I heard one commentator yesterday during the Raptor Knick game, I think it was "Chipper" or some other idiot, say the "difference in the game right now is the Raptor misses and the Knicks scoring."

    DUH!
