I'll say if we do meet Mr.James in the final, get a second opinion on this hairline fracture. I hope the radiologist just overread it. They underread it at the beginning, didn't they?

Kevin McHale played the 1987 finals on a broken foot. He was never the same after that, but he played and had no regrets. Yao shouldn't play, but I think he's a lot like McHale. He's the kind of guy that would sacrifice his future career for a shot at the title now.

Yao will definitely play if Rockets advance to the Final this year.

Dude they said he won't be able to play anymore. His season is done. Besides, its not like Yao Ming coming in is an automatic win, we lost a lot of games even with him around, what makes you think an injured and even slower Yao Ming will have an impact? And if you think the Rockets will risk him aggravating his injury just to play a game we MIGHT win if he plays you are out of your mind. We shouldn't even be discussing this, 1 star.

maybe we can beat the lakers without Yao, because Lakers is a fast break team, but we need Yao when we meet Nuggets or Cavaliers, he is a real greatwall on the back court

Play him in the 4th quarter alone. The other team would be tired by then so he can go to work in limited minutes.

If they had any hopes of him returning they'd be pulling all stops by having him avoid flights to stop any swelling, ie not travel with the team and have daily visits to the hyperbaric chamber.

I think they're sitting him with an eye towards the long term.

I don't understand, if you guys want to trade him after this season anyway, why not just let him rest so he can recover before next season? Hence you can't trade injured players.
