I think Phil Jackson qualifies as Rick's evil archnemesis.

    - He was coaching Chicago when the Blazers made it to the finals and lost. Twice.

    - He was coaching L.A. when the Kings got robbed in 02.

Phil has stood in the way of every title run Phil's had, poor guy. It's like The Waterboy, Rick is Henry Winkler and Phil is that other coach, lol.

    I'm sure you meant Rick's had. ;)

I agree. I liked Phil better with Chi but now he is a big ass baby like Kobe. WHINERS!!!

Right, i think he's a little lackadaisical since he already has nine rings. Like he expects everything to be handed to him since he's Phil Jackson.

    Perfect example: Last years finals

Blazers lost to the Pistons when Adelman's Blazers went to the finals in 1990.

Great coach, one of the greatest system coach in NBA right now, but a bit slow in the game when facing cunning opponents like P.Jackson.

    Lowry-Brooks reminds me of Bibby-Jackson.

    Scola is Divac.

    Landry, a tougher Chris Webber.

    Battier is Doug Christie.

and we still have more weapons...(Artest, Von Wafer, etc)

Wow! That's a great assesment. Although I'd have to add:

Landry, a tougher less talented Chris Webber. He's still one of my faves, fa sho.

I don't know about this he can't coach superstar stuff. Drexler and Webber were way better than Yao and Tracy McGrady.

absolutely not... any coach wants an unselfish superstar on his team... that being said, i don't think yao is really a superstar... he's maybe just one tier below. superstars carries a team by himself, and yao has not done that consistently enough... also, superstars stay healthy enough to carry the team.

where i think where you're right is that Adelman's offense works well with a bunch of role players... and so we're really not giving up too much offensively.

I admit I have underestimated his impact on the team. The players have responded to him. We have our limitations without a doubt,I would like to see how far Adelman can take us with additional talent who would continue to fit in with the team.

I never said he cant coach them...I said that he is more effective when he doesnt have to deal with a focal point in the offense. Webber was at his prime great but he was also a better high post player and passer along with Divac. Drexler bought into the system a lot better than Tracy has. As far as firing him, I never suggested that, I was making a mere observation and wanted others opinions. Adelman is a great coach and I'm glad that this team has him right now.
