Reading some of the posts here, gets my eyes rolling. Some of the fans really have high standard for other people. First, we want stars to be role models, then we want fans to be saints, now we want owners to be role models as well? Cuban never wanted to be liked by other fans, he only wanted his team to win. He doesn't care to pay the fine to speak his mind, or play a manipulation game. Nowadays, people talked about respect way to much. I don't think others fans respect us more than Spurs fans or Marvs fans or Utah fans. Why do we bother to pretend? You don't like Cuban, perfectly fine, me neither. But some player's mother talks trash to you, you shoot back. It doesn't mean you have to be held a higher moral standard, if you are an owner. Yes, Martin is a thug, and he's obviously proud of that. If you can say that on Internet, in the media, why can't you tell his mother, when she's trying to lead by example?

Kenyon's mom shouldn't have said anything in the first place. And it's not like Cuban actually insulted his mom. If you trash talk, expect to take it back. But Cuban should have showed some restraint and let it go. At least Lebron had the sense to calm his mother down.
Really, what other owners get involved in stupid crap like this? If he's got a problem with Martin playing dirty, then send tapes to the league office. If he's trash-talking your players, let your players talk back to him. But why the hell is Cuban getting involved in all this? Because it's all about him. The disease of me. If he really cared about his team, he'd realize that all his antics do is make his team more uncomfortable and contribute to their choke-osity. He's a great businessman, but he ain't exactly the sharpest tool when it comes to player personnel (Kidd for Harris, several others). It's actually great- he has the marketing intelligence to build up the Mavericks brand, but he doesn't have the basketball smarts to build a championship team. So I hope he remains the Mavs owner for many, many years to come.
