I hope someone from the Rockets organization sees this and tells coach to present this to the players in the locker room before the game. We need the Rockets to get that "We'll prove you wrong!" mentality back for game 4. I want this to fire them up once again!
Not surprised. I've been telling you guys so many times. This is just typical Lakers mentality. It's like it is their birthright to win everything, and get everything just because they are the Lakers.
That was my hope in posting it here. I know enough of the media and organization check this site and I would love to give our guys more fodder for the "f-em all, we don't need your stinking respect" attitude they seem to have. Plus it seriously pissed me off that he called Chuck a stubby red fire hydrant.
how will we do it???? i hope we can shoot as well as game 4. and whoever wins the 1st quarter, has won all the Rockets playoff games..
How in the hell did Gasol "take it easy"? He was maybe the one guy on the team who DIDN'T take it easy. He scored 30 points on efficient shooting with Chuck Hayes guarding him for much of the night. That is not easy to do.
They should see it, and should already be planning for the game of their lives. If anyone thinks these guys don't have something to prove, they aren't watching. You think ChuckWagon doesn't want to show everyone why he's on this team? You think Wafer doesn't want to run this in their face? Ron? Shane? Scola? Brooks? They all have something to prove, and those coming in to replace Yao's minutes? This is their time to shine. They KNOW they can do it... so what's left? Do it for Yao? For Deke? For Tracy even?! What more motivation do these guys need? If they play their best, we can win. I expect them to come out and show it. Rockets in 6. Let LA try to tell them it can't happen, because I bet you deep down, now everyone believes it can.
This is so similar to that crap the Portland writer wrote after Game 5 in the first round, about how the Rockets are "right where we want them....being down a game to them with 2 left." There's nothing I respect less than blind homerism without so much as a nod in the other team's direction. Phil Jackson was 100% correct.....give us some f***ing credit! The problem is, at least in Portland, Blazers fans were knowledgable enough to give that guy a hot serving of STFU. Lakers fans are probably eating up the crap this Kevin Dingbat guy is writing though.
You know what this reminds me of? "Portland in 7?" Not even worth bothering with. Typical Laker trash.
The Rockets have already exceeded my expectations for this year and after the Mother's Day Massacre, I will be happy about this season if we don't win another game. However, LA fans are whistling past the graveyard, if they think LA has this round in the bag. We stomped their d-cks in the dirt with Artest shooting abysmally. What makes this Rockets team so dangerous is that we consistently play superior defense and have multiple players that can go off. List of Rockets who can drop the bomb on you any given game- Artest Scola Brooks Wafer And we've yet to see a big scoring night from Landry. I think he's about due. Not to mention, Battier might just be getting into his 3 point groove. I like our chances.
Typical LA media.... they are just like their fans.. their LA Times blog writer for the Lakers pashke or something is a complete idiot. He was on Around the Horn a couple of times last week... just a terrible writer and a complete writer. I normally don't praise the Houston media.. but the Houston media is WAY better in the sports dept. than the LA media. It's not even close...
You can't guard Brooks...period!! You can't pressure him either...he's too quick! I hope the Rockets came out firing because i hate the Lakers and want them to lose.
I think we're going to need Wafer to score at least 20 to pull it off in Game 5.. Artest and Scola also need to score 15+ each, and Brooks needs to shoot over 45%.
I think it's this sort of mindset that will prevent the Lakers from winning it all this year. Too much "we're so talented" but not enough heart and drive to back it up. They think they can waltz into a place and be handed a win, and we're showing them that this is the freaking NBA. If they lose, it's the refs fault or a lack of effort, not the other team playing well. They can keep telling themselves those little lies to stay motivated and keep their fragile ego afloat, but it'll eventually come back to bite them in the nuts. Bottom line was last game was one of the games where they could have stepped on our throat. Instead they came out dazed and confused and we stomped them. There's no excuse for that from a championship-caliber team, no matter what these writers think. If the Lakers win it all this year it'll be an absolute travesty.
