now, didn't the Charlotte Bobcats totally own the Lakers? maybe that's what we've become without our two big guns. kind of ironic?

It's good to know that Houston is getting recognized for what we all know, and are so proud of.... the chemistry, character, and heart of this team.
Sure, they give backhanded compliments about our roster, but you know what that means? They're saying that we have heart. They can't admit that, so they point out why we SHOULDN'T win (misguidedly, I must add... our roster is as good as any imo). But we did.... we fought hard, we HAVE the talent and the skill, but we won on heart.

I think a lot of the reaction you're seeing here (not all of which is mature but not all of which is childish, either) is mainly just reaction to him being there to comment at all.

    1) He's a terrible commentator.

    2) He's beyond a Laker Supporter.

Half time was basically a Laker love fest by ABC/ESPN, and he just punctuated it all too perfectly. Couple it with his poor speaking ability and it's an easy target for Rockets fans looking to extract some satisfaction from a dire situation, savoring a nice half of basketball from their underdogs with heart, only to hear him fumble through his homerism.

Now, once could argue that it offsets Van Gundy's commentating during the game (Though this is somewhat deficient in that he is a decent commentator, an Van Gundy no longer has a vested interest in our success, shy of some of the players being "his".) Partially acceptable, but I still thought Magic being there at all was a poor choice, regardless what he had to say (which was expected, how else would he act?).

Any problem I had with what he said was completely fine after the win, when Phil Jackson finally says to the media that we deserve some credit.

Bad choice by ESPN with the Magic Choice (regardless how great he is/was), but small in the scheme of things.

Go Rockets, keep showing them all why you deserve their respect.

Just pointing out that it's hypocritical to criticize Magic for throwing his lot in with the Lakers and then be upset at Kenny and Charles for not talking up the Rockets more since they're Houston alumni.

    That is all.
