I know that I am thinking a little too far ahead here, but is it too farfetched to assume that the only way we can advance past the Lakers and the Nugs would be to utilize our "biggest" mismatch? The closest any player has gotten to guarding AB was Farmar (and you know what AB has done to him). Denver has a terrific PG in Chauncey, but he would not be a good matchup against Aaron (though i am worried about AB guarding Chauncey and Birdman/Nene patrolling the paint). And the closest thing the Cavs have is "boobie" Gibson (yeah right!) I can't help to believe that our success is contingent upon Aaron's success; we cannot win w/o him having a good game. Of course, our entire team has to continue the excellent defensive intensity and guard the paint. I'll be the first to admit that that is A LOT to ask for. However, my question is: given the team's situation, would it be fair to say that AB has to consistently be on top of his game? And if he does so, will he be deserving of the Finals MVP? Given all this, wouldn't it be fair to say that the Finals MVP would be none other than our undersized, late 1st round, half-season starter, 2nd yr guard? Talk about a feel-good story!
He is the key, but I think he is still too green to be what you are saying he could be....maybe one day though. DD
man , stop posting this kind of thread . just wait and cheer for the young man's great performance . that's all .
^ wow, i didn't know i'd need my flame-proof suit for this one! Nothing wrong with doing a little speculating and seeing what my fellow rockets fans have to say about it.
WAY too early to speculate. It's great that he is stepping up in this series, but if I was to give MVP to this someone on this team, I couldn't. I would give the MVP to the whole team.
sheesh, lock-her-up. I don't want to be single-handedly responsible for the Rockets demise because of my magical jinxing abilities...
well, assuming that Denver advances to WCF, and Cleveland to the finals, then the most important player will be Artest(Battier) in his defense of Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James as well as scoring 20 or more efficient points on the other end. if the Rockets can makes those superstars rather inefficient without committing a hard double team, then i believe the rest of the Rockets can hold the rest of the team to their season averages. except Billups. Brooks will have to match Chauncey's production. quite a hard task.
